Anyone (even Gus) hazard a guess at how many years it would be from FID for a condensate project and the production of natural gas?
How would the development be reconfigured?
How much would it cost?
Would the gas be abandoned?

Attempting to help the non-technical here. The condensate is extremely valuable and a solution to the fuel oil problem re the world shipping fleet.

The gas may be recovered in due course but is required to be reinjected for petrophysical purposes ie to ensure that firstly, commercially viable flows of condensate (actually a light oil in this case) continue and secondly that the risk of condensate blockage is ameliorated.
What must be avoided is the phase change occurring within the reservoir itself, this could be a very challenging problem.

So then Gussy Gusset, if gas condensate is near or at the supercritical phase what can the production engineers retain and store on the surface and what has to be returned to the reservoir.

In other words, how long will it take before gas alone can be recovered and how are BOR going to process it? Darwin does not provide either an easy or indeed short term solution to the existing gas crisis.

I'm afraid to post that many here, some with colossal holdings, have not the faintest idea just how complex in petrophysical terms a gas condensate reservoir can be and what engineering processes are required to unleash the enormous potential of Darwin alone: never mind the remainder of the licence areas.

That said, the extraction rate/recoverabilty metric is massive but liquids must precede gas recovery (unless contiguous discoveries are made).

Two days out! The placing before (the atrocity one re Pilbeam) I called within hours. You have to allow a two or three day flex for the no doubt 'polite' discussions between Staley and Griffiths. Not sure if the Pilbeam ones were very gracious: we will never know haha!!

Ok, so moving on, given that PRD only has 2D (due Griffiths being such a natural oil man) how do we know that MOU-1 and MOU-4 are in pressure connection? 2D cannot detect all faulting within the formation.
