I finally got out of ARB a while back at 160p, having been in and out of it several times. Lost over £2k on something I didnt really understand, lack of patience, very high risk with too many variables and uncertainties. My fault entirely, but was using part of the gain I made from the first day trading and some IPO of CBX and KNB earlier in the year.

Good day for me pf wise. Could have made another £150 on the Lloy if I’d held out until the afternoon, but overall happy. Hope it’s been the same for you all.
I will buy again on any significant initial drop caused by profit tomorrow.

Excellent result for the Lions in the rugby. I enjoyed my all day trip to the pub to watch it. COVID restrictions still very much in place where I went. Still table service. That’s great for me as I hate queuing at the bar.
Just bought a tranche of LLOY, as they are down 1.5% this morning. Seems a good opportunity.

Morning T - as ever, thanks for info. My pf is heavily UK based. My only direct exposure to US stocks is a small holding of Pfizer, and indirectly whatever US stocks are in BRWM and Smithson SSON. That’s not to say that we won’t get dragged down.
Anyone aware of a time when US stocks fell over such a period without impacting on UK stocks? I suspect not.

Evening all. Ah well, market did what it’s done recently. Was tempted to sell a tranche of LLOY this morning on its further rise, but dithered and then went out at missed the opportunity. Bought another tranche at the bell, and hope to sell on a rebound tomorrow morning.

Still too hot, currently sat indoors next to a fan on full pelt (helps enormously).
I shall retire to the garden later once the sun goes round. Beers in the fridge ready.
A good day for me for a change with my whole pf up over 2.5% due to heavy holdings of LLOY, LGEN and BRWM.
Just hope the market doesn’t follow the recent pattern of good day, followed by profit taking the next. LLOY is especially prone to this.
My disastrous speculative buy of JDW falsely based on an expected jump on “end of lockdown” was up 5% today - only another 15% required before I break even.
The only deal I’ve done today is selling my knackered Focus for scrap value. Shame I filled it right up with 12 gallons of petrol a couple of days earlier, so a £70 loss on that. I will take that any day if my pf does as well as today :)

Not much to say about m share dealings, so if I can chip in on the discussion.
Cummings is an egocentric compulsive liar and bully. I think he is in cahoots with Gove to become PM.
The only words of his I’m inclined to believe are true is what he claimed Boris said about himself (Boris) in that it was a ludicrous idea and unfit to become PM. :)

Now sat down for the first time today in the garden having a cold drink or two. This weather is too hot for me. That’s why we like going to the Canaries in autumn, winter and spring - usually just right.
V - hope your OH gets well soon.
n - after today’s horror show, like you I’m sitting on a drop from my ATH 7th May (10-12%), I was only thinking last week about selling most of my pf, but I’d just be crystallising losses on many, so will sit tight.
T - your comment - yes, I’m hoping we’ll recover. I’ve got some funds spare at the mo, but won’t invest just yet.
That said, I sold half of my what was going to be “day trade” last week in ASC at a 3% loss, and bought LLOY at its dropped price of -4.86%. I can’t resist a bargain.

The government has lost control of COVID infections, NHS app and having to isolate being brought into disrepute (I wonder by whom), population and industry losing patience etc etc. It’s a right mess. We are probably going to have to get used to a certain number of hospitalisations and deaths and permanent mass vaccinations. Still don’t understand the logic of the UKs red/amber country list when our numbers are so much higher than many of the countries on the lists. Again, It’s a complete mess.

Forgot to say. Finally sold the last small batch of EUA (that I purchased to day trade weeks ago) for a meagre £10 profit after costs.
Still holding a large chunk of my unicorn at a 5% loss.

T - I could have taken a 1% profit on ASC at one point, but held out for more. In the end down 3%. I know I shouldn’t, but Im still in overnight.
It was only a small amount and tomorrow’s another day:)

Thanks T. It can always turn into one of my long term holds. Can’t be any worse than my recent JDW investment that is down 18% in less than a month :)

Afternoon all. Warm and reasonably sunny. Pf nudging down again. Sold my BEG earlier making 21% profit. However, for some excitement I’ve just invested the proceeds in ASC! Must remember to keep an eye on the movements this afternoon :)

T - the way the markets are reacting at the mo, ASC could report a 200% increase in profits and great prospects for 21-22 and the SP will still drop tomorrow!

Thanks T, governments seem to be less concerned about inflation (while interest rates are low) than the markets. That with QE supporting liquidity, government borrowing and robbing savers of the opportunity to maintain the value of their savings - who’d want to be a politician.

T - I’m struggling to understand how the bank shares moved 2%+ early this morning and end up in some cases 2% down on the day at close of play. Am I missing something news wise?
