Jesteh I have to say Vod don’t do themselves any favours sometimes. Here’s Bank of America downgrading the company, and what do we get from the company - eff all. Why don’t they trumpet the successes of the company i.e. today Vod completed it 5G upgrade to its xyz towers, this city, town now has 5G in 95% of the area. Next week we go live with 123. Give the investors the information that everyone wants to hear, it might just combat some of the negativity and stop people panic selling. Only an opinion but as good as anyone else’s.

I’m one of those long term holders, although I’ve added quite a few since that time. I’ve kept the original sp in my head so that I’m not tempted to sell any of those particular shares. But even those that I have bought are now at the point I don’t want to sell otherwise it’s just more losses. Quite honestly if you sacked half of the bod you’d probably increase productivity. Their decisions are the ones to cause sentiment to keep forcing the sp lower. Let’s start seeing some responsibility taken for shareholders value being diminished and some proper remedial action taken. They are paid very handsomely let’s start seeing them earn it instead of attending insane woke seminars.

Right now investing in Vod is like trying to catch a falling knife. The decisions that have been made do not reflect shareholder value. Now, at the risk of upsetting the Vod cheerleaders who is it that drives the bus, is it a. The BOD, b. The local managers, c. The cleaner. I’ll let everyone come to their own conclusions. Market sentiment is driven by the decisions and info passed downwards. Speaks volumes.

Presumably we’re waiting for our lords and masters in the USA to give us an indication of the direction of their market. Then if they buy we do, we always follow never lead the market. Spineless like most of the country is turning into.

What trouble is coming mole?

I’ve done a C&P from ISP Review UK which might actually explain some of the poor sentiment in the investment industry towards Vod. We’re so far behind so instead of blowing smoke up people’s asses why don’t Vod concentrate on getting the job done and get back to being an industry leader.

Overall, EE leads the pack with a 5G availability score of 67.45% (i.e. they might not tend to beat Three UK for 5G speeds, but availability is over double), which is followed by O2 on 46.11% (O2 often come bottom of many performance studies, but availability seems to be another matter), then Three UK on 31.1% and finally Vodafone places last with a feeble score of 16.37%

Looks like Vod will undershoot just about everything. If the sp gets much lower we’ve surely got to be ripe for a takeover bid. I suppose we can only hope 😂

Robleo I think you’re spot on there. There will definitely be a need for fibre for years to come. The government are good at wasting money but don’t throw it away on redundant items, and the big comms companies don’t spend millions and millions of pounds just so that they can scrap fibre in a few years time. FTTP will certainly outlive a lot of us on here. As for let’s see this share making gains we all agree with that statement 👍👍

Whether pariah is the correct word or nor, Vod are definitely out of favour. 2% down today as well as a wallop yesterday. The PR guys aren’t doing a very good job at releasing anything that might pacify investors nerves. Whatever the cause of the drop it’s not being managed very well imo. Get one of the senior bod members in front of some cameras and give investors reassurance. It might just steady the sp, anything is worth a try other than the silence.

You better not look at the sp then ;-)

It hasn’t had the impact that everyone hoped for upon the announcement but it will be interesting to see how long it is before we start seeing the impact on the phone signal that customers should benefit from. In places around my area Vod is absolutely useless so I’m hoping that using 3s network and vice versa customers will benefit hugely. And as for data usage with Vod around d here you can’t download the news let alone do any business transactions or shopping. Fingers crossed that it won’t be too long before improvements are felt.

Where is the rah rah rah brigade. They said that you won’t be able to buy shares for under a pound, the 80s will be here any day. Look how the market has actually received this startling news, laughable :-) :-)

Or insider knowledge that the merger isn’t going to happen, get rid of shares before they drop in price :-) :-) ;-)

I think it’s being viewed as a company that has way overstretched itself. The market hate uncertainty and without a clear and concise plan people move on. They know they’ll be able to reinvest later. Why keep your money in a proverbial black hole where the returns are shrinking when there’s good profit to be held elsewhere. About half of my shares were bought at 160p the other at 77p. Why would anyone invest more?

So I guess we can all start thinking about losing what little money we had left of our original investment. Shame really, at one stage I honestly thought we would end up reasonably successful. :-(

Shed/Chri5p, good to see someone holding the fort. I’m so out of touch on EUZ now I couldn’t even begin to have a sensible discussion about them anymore, and I don’t have the inclination to start trying to research things again. Hopefully things will come good for everyone without too much pain. I still have never sold a share so you never know one day Rodney……. :-)

Evening Shed, a long long time since I visited this bb and it’s verging on optimism again something we haven’t seen any of since Lawrence left all that time ago. You never know one day we might see our money back at this rate :-). Good to see that you’re still here 👍
