With respect to the wishful thinking on here about what the sp will be if and when the merger is given the go ahead. It’s all pie in the sky, before the results were published some of the rampers on here were forecasting anywhere between 80p and £1 as the definite sp and now was the time to buy. Look where we are, if the sp reaches 80p it will have done well. I’ve got 24k in shares which were bought at an average of 77p and the rest at 160p. If you are in a position to be able to trade if and when this share gets anywhere near 85p I’d say offload and wait for the sp to drop. The rampers have generally got an ulterior motive be very careful of them. Only my opinion but it’s as good as anyone’s on this board.

I put my divi in at about that level so I’m quite happy with it. For once I’m pleased I didn’t automatically invest it. I only in reality got a few more but as they say, every little helps :-)

I know this is only an opinion so isn’t worth too much, but really it’s in the country’s and industry’s interest and benefit to allow the merger. That way everyone gets instant better phone signal that use the two companies for their phone contacts. The investment from both companies is larger since it’s a shared cost and the government gets its targets met. Win win in my opinion

I wouldn’t mind you being right as 50% of my shares were purchased at 160p. I just can’t see this company sp getting to £1+ this side of Christmas. No matter what happens we get stuck in and around 70p. Now if someone decides this is a good takeover target then I could see there being an instant climb, but not right now.

Shame that the big money men don’t share your view then the sp might just go north of 75p. Where do you get this mythical figure of £1+from. We haven’t even had 80p yet so I don’t think now is the time to start talking about a 30% increase in sp.

I’ve just seen it have an impact on the sp. It’s just ticked up by 0.1 of a penny :-)

About 40% of my shares were bought at 160p ages ago. The other 60% I bought at 68p and traded them a couple of times so got more shares than I started with. However, since the divi was announced the sp has fallen and I’m stuck at 77p in my isa. Hopefully things will go up soon.

Avo, if this doubles by year end I’ll jump for joy. I’ve got 35k shares that I’m holding which I bought for 160p each and I’d love to offload them again :-)

Evening Dan, unfortunately the RNS issued at 1730 today states that Vod are going to hold them in treasury. That’s not what everyone was lead to believe. Have a good day tomorrow, hopefully we’ll get some good news before next week’s RNS.

I’ve just bought back in from last wee with those that I’d been trading. I made a healthy profit of £750 last week. Just bought back in and got about 1k shares less that I had last week. Never mind I’ve still got that amount of money invested and I won’t be trading until after the ex div date :-)

Daniel, not an option trade, just a trade. I’ve dipped in and out a few times and have actually been turning a nice little bit of profit. All I need is for Vod to stay stuck in this reasonably predictable range and il be able to continue my little scheme. Have a very good weekend.

Look at the size of the early trade, either someone is delighted or very unhappy.

What a shame it’s not ISA day, it would be brilliant to top up in there.

Morning all, if the share price does go below 65 today I may just reinvest my divi that I got, or I may just wait until the decision is made on how much the divi is likely to be cut. Either way I still think I’ll be getting shares ultimately on the cheap. Only my opinion but it’s as good as anyone’s .
