Whether you like it or not, RR have committed to a full year (2024) dividend. Only thing stopping it would be if shareholders vote against it at the 2025 AGM. Now I've been around a while and I can't remember the last time a board promoted proposal of dividend was rejected by shareholders.

My wife was the last to leave the NHS within her peer group as she loved giving care. She’s now private and enjoys it just as much. Half the time, double the wages - but looking after people is always paramount.

It’s a weird one. We’re destined to believe in the NHS but it doesn’t treat the workers right.

As you will know from your wife, the private sector are eager for fully trained NHS staff. If she’s thinking what my wife thought, I’d give her a shove and remind her they can always go back mate.

My wife is actually doing several jobs right now, some NHS, some private and some I won’t even attempt to understand.

I may have mentioned this before but when I had my promotional merchandise company, we were asked to produce banners for the local NHS.

We we’re told the had 10k to spend.

Me being me (and I’m total disagreement to my business partner at the time) I suggested our PVC banners had a 10 year warranty so the “Hepititis C” awareness they wanted to get across would cost £1k - just take the date off!.

“So where do we spend the other 9k” was the reply!

Times that by the immoral sector who would indeed rip their hands off to gain personal profit, and you have the situation we are in.

Hence me being for a middle ground of politics right now. Tories have ripped us off with an endless tap.

Last triple lock gave pensioners 11% increase. That’s quite a lot. And as far as I know, the triple lock will continue.

I’m sounding like a Labour voter but current economic strategy from Labour looks good to me.
