Totally get that RonR, but the requirement to stall is based on potential legal action from competitors.

I presumed the current government had done due diligence to ensure that wasn’t possible.

Now we’re in the realms of corporate crap.

The EDF debacle of Hinkly C is a perfect get out clause for the current gov to offset any payment from UK taxpayer by offering SMR contract as a payment to EDF.

Call me cynical if you want, but that’s the way this is heading!

J45dev, the issue of issuing an international bidding contract (tender) was always going to be an issue when common sense suggests a home grown entity such as RR with 10 years R&D ‘should’ win it from day one.

It’s obvious the government had to ‘play fair’ by issuing stages of funding for those achieving such level, which we know has now happened with uk government giving those £200m+ packages to those achieving such levels.

My point is simple. The obvious conclusion was always RR SMR Ltd, but now legal action by its competitors is on the brink of instigation due to information we are unaware of.

That clearly suggests the competition are aware of the UK issuing this to RR SMR Ltd and are therefore using legal channels at this stage to change the decision,

I can’t go over old ground with you mate, but we ‘were’ destined for £7 with everything you say being part of it. This isn’t a figure I’ve just plucked out the air, it was diligent research of a recovery stock from 2020, you know that.

Sorry Ar3snal, but you are terribly wrong. The CMD clearly stipulated two methods of increase revenue when all other current productivity hot post Covid income. Those two where:

1) SMR contracts

2) Re-entry to the narrow body market

The graph they showed in the CMD was about 2/5ths the amount of current revenue. (Massive)

Bernyberlingo, I'm the £7 cat - but paws up this 'could' be a problem.

To sanction a tender at government level, one must assume two points:

1) To ensure that the procurement activities reflect the government's approach to equality.

2) To fulfil the government's duty of ' Best Value'.

RR SMR Ltd are clearly above and beyond on both points.

yet another total **** up from the uk putting this out to tender to appease international relations and current contracts (edf nuclear contact being the major one).

uk governments hands are tied due to historic retrospective contract dealing and it totally sucks!

i won't be surprised if they now give the whole smr contract to edf - use that as subsidy/part payment for what edf are requesting from the uk taxpayer for hinkley point c!

Stop arguing in other threads chaps, this is kinda serious.

The same alleged leak I was allegedly privy to in November last year, and the same alleged leak Tufan might have been jumping through hopes about, but couldn’t/and didn’t say, may have been the 100% contract for SMRs based on the THEN probability of competition not being up to the job at the last hurdle.

Competition have therefore suggested an unfair playing field which has led to this.

Who knows what the current/next government will do to appease the situation.

...in short, those moaning about the £200m+ being given to RR SMR Ltd competition in the run up to the decision need to understand why it was given.

Even those millions given away to show a 'level playing field' wasn't enough.

...so, regardless of me thing due diligence was being met (with our government giving millions away for certain stage progress to competitors of RR), it seems they still haven't met that threshold.

The whole issue here was RR SMR Ltd getting the contracts and whether those not favoured would/should take legal action.

People on here moaned about contracts not being awarded to a British company (RR SMR Ltd) instantly, and although the government gave steps for all competitors to reach, giving away millions in R&D for each competitor who reached those steps, it seems that wasn't enough:

Anyone following my take on this will know the government HAD to offer an open playing field, regardless of RR SMR Ltd being the obvious contender.

It seems those competitors have realised that, and what and 'more that equal playing field' - if that makes sense.

Never wavered from my £7 goal come Feb 2025 when I first mentioned it in October 2020 at rights issue level. It seemed a joke to many then, but many have since come round to the idea.

Rr doubled last year (well, more than doubled) and SMR, narrow body re-entry, return of divs and investment grade are currently still not factored in.

So yes, still onboard for that goal mate.

I’m confident RR have the vast majority, if not all SMR contracts based on the rather due diligent way the government have gone about the tender process (pouring money into RR’s competition etc). It leaves no room for any post contract awards to be challenged.

I understand the confusion though Retirment - you stated £3.80 by August and it got there last week.

Then you go on to say £7 is pie in the sky.
