It may play into RR's hands though as he is stating supply chain issues with US engine suppliers.

So, the bottom line is how is this news going to affect the markets on Monday and what will it do to the RR share price?

I wonder what the costs would be i.e how much it would cost to upgrade the 97k compared to how many units they'd sell and if they would make enough profit. Didn't RR turn down involvement with Boom due to it not being profitable enough?

Re: the P&W icing issue. This will be most probably be a software issue also I would suspect, either that or Airbus/P&W are not telling the whole story.

I find it a little suss that the issue is affecting 'on ground' operations only and not in flight ops. You've got to remember that in flight the conditions are far colder with just as much moisture in the air, so it must be down to the ground/flight state of the engine software (generally triggered by 'weight on wheel' switch).

I don't know that much about the PW1000G (I'm making an assumption that is the engine involved) but if it's safe in flight but not on the ground, then it sounds like them pesky 1's and 0's again.

No it's not. Sounds like P&W have an icing issue with that engine.

Rolls-Royce DO NOT supply any engines for these narrow body aircraft, but I'm hoping it won't have a knock-on effect if Airbus shares are to take a tumble due to this recall. I suspect me could feel some waves from this brick being dropped in the aerospace pond next week.

30p share price for market cap of £40 mil? It'd be circa 0.9p at £40 mil. I hardly think GFIN's Mkt Cap will ever be worth just over £1.3 billion, do you?
