Re: the P&W icing issue. This will be most probably be a software issue also I would suspect, either that or Airbus/P&W are not telling the whole story.
I find it a little suss that the issue is affecting 'on ground' operations only and not in flight ops. You've got to remember that in flight the conditions are far colder with just as much moisture in the air, so it must be down to the ground/flight state of the engine software (generally triggered by 'weight on wheel' switch).
I don't know that much about the PW1000G (I'm making an assumption that is the engine involved) but if it's safe in flight but not on the ground, then it sounds like them pesky 1's and 0's again.
