Agreed, Paris hopefully may yield some orders, that is the core business I'm talking about. This is what will push us to £10-£12 mark, but can it be sustained?
SMR seems to have been priced in already, barring some great export orders, and narrow body may be much the same.
I understand what NTC is saying, whether I totally agree, I'm not sure yet.
I can see there will be a drought of 'great news' for the next 5 to 10 years. SMR and narrow body, infact Ultrafan 30 and 80 as I believe they will be called, will plod on in the background for circa the next 10 years before they are productionised and making money.
This doesn't make RR a bad bet, it's just going to slow down and maybe the fickle markets eye will wonder as we are not making double digit sp growth and move onto the next big thing and cause some dips on the way.
If the Ultrafan derivatives are as good as they are rumored, then we could be looking at a paradigm shift in the gas turbine market. This could be a game changer. The Ultrafan tech demonstrator is reported to be 10+% better on fuel economy that the XWB, that is a very big number in the aviation world for something that hasn't been tuned and finessed.
The future is bright, possibly blindingly so. It's just not going to be tomorrow, and I fear we may have to buckle up for a long haul flight to reach mega highs.
Just my musings.
