If, and it's big 'if', the VP is using Nanoco tech and we assume every IR sensor in the device is using Nanoco IP in some way, and that's a large assumption, then with a 400k production estimate for this year, they're looking at around 4-5million sensors. With an estimated 20p per sensor revenue - I think this would be a bit higher bearing in mind volume- then that equals about £1m revenue, and with a 50-70% profit margin £5-700k earnings.

We should all know soon enough whether the VP uses STMicro sensors or not, unless Apple have asked for all legending removed from the chips inside (I think that would be a first). From there it would require STMicro or Nanoco to declare the sensor chips are using their QD's. There will be a lot of people digging around to see what makes this device tick.

Sensor chips that seem likely to be using QD's are still not on the general market, but are scheduled to be by March according to STM website.

I think many can well remember the 'Prototypes on Pouffes' at CES.

I think most lth’s are mindful of short term lifts and over enthusiastic sentiment, which swiftly turns sour when things cool down.

I’ve held for several years and there are plenty who’ve held for far longer, at present all we know is that there has been a low volume order to STMicroelectronics, who their customer is, is completely speculative. Sadly I think one or two on here are now presenting this in a way that makes it look like a fact.

I would interpret that as being pushed about by infringers e.g. Nanoco to infringer- "please cease and desist infringing our IP", infringer- "Prove it, take us to court, oh wait you haven't got any money, ha, ha."

cadmium isn't used in the infrared spectrum materials. the first gen materials are lead sulphide. competitors infrared dots are also lead sulphide- it's not exclusive to nanoco, although they claim to have a lot of trade secrets which make it easier to produce consistently at scale, which is important for larger volume manufacturing. next gen materials will be indium ****nide and later on indium antimonide.

i've read some debate that the infrared materials are technically nano particles rather than quantum dots.

I do wonder how much information passed from Dow, or its employees to Samsung. After all the facility was built right next door to Samsung, and Dow would have received a lot of information as a licensed partner.

Depends on how much you have invested.

Company have already said they don't want to impose equity or capital on shareholders. How will they honour that if they favour one over the other?

Why does it matter what day in February (or before) the second payment is received? If Samsung wanted to fart about they'd have done so with the first payment too, and there was no sign of that. This is buttons to them anyway.

It's organic growth in the company that is key to a stable and sustained rise in company value. Nanoco are about a year behind the curve as a consequence of delays further up the supply chain, let's wait and see how quick they get to play catch-up.

It's really not in Nanoco or its shareholder's interests to have a product focused solely on one company and one product. We want to see these sensors proliferate everywhere. Someone like Meta getting in on the act would be very good news, as their pricing tends to shift a lot more units, even if they lack the kudos of Apple.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or two sensors in the VP are exclusively supplied to Apple, but I think many more QD enhanced sensors are likely to be standard items available to any company that wants to incorporate them, especially the external sensors.
