RE: Nanoco Valuation27 Sep 2023 15:42
Hi FlyingHigher,
I'm afraid that I fundamentally disagree with using P/E ratios to estimate the valuation of this company as it would be misleading to do so.
P/E ratios are used as a gauge of the value of a company based on the assumption that profits are consistent or growing consistently. This is not the case for Nanoco. The 'profit' is a one off and is not expected to be repeated in any similar fashion. The future profits of the company cannot be deduced from it, but rather the future profits of the company are largely based on a binary event of "will they or won't they adopt our tech, and if they do, will they pay for it?"
This company has huge potential , but I fear it is a long way off, going by what people on this chat group (who appear knowledgeable in the field) have said. There is the potential commercialisation that Brian Tenner expects by the end of the year, but I assign a close to zero probability that it will be worth any more than a (very few) million quid.
