Well it is pure speculation Matilda and often done to pass the time in-between news bulletins. Newcrest do not have to buy GGP to get their hands fully on Havieron. They might choose to to get their hands on all the tenements but that seems unlikely because the sites have yet to be proved up. Nor indeed has Havieron been fully explored but Newcrest might, just might, offer a price for the site that GGP would find hard to resist. I'm not talking about a horse's head under the bedclothes either. It would be a strong visible price that would both tempt GGP while at the same time inform Newcrest shareholders. Like I say, it's just speculation. There has not been a hint of any such discussions taking place. The only rumours are on these boards!

I think you are all being a little harsh. The article was pretty upbeat and quite a nice summary of where we are. The remark about finding a low point of entry was a little 'offbeat' but, generally speaking, when presented to a potential shareholder unfamiliar with the story so far, I think it was one of the better written articles.

I'd be interested to know that too Tig. My own analogy is less exotic. As a referee, yep, did the course, we were taught that the lines by the side of the pitch go up to infinity. If the ball is in the air and does not cross the line fully then it is still 'in play'. So I'm wondering if the licence for Havieron goes down to the centre of the Earth and woe betide anyone who kicks their ball into our playing area.

Anyway, with Christmas and holiday season looming the timing of the these news releases seems pretty crucial and a fine balance between announcing the information that potential investors are itching to hear, while ensuring that there is something 'complete' or at least 'worthwhile' to release.

However, there are a number of formal dates coming up that have been put up on here by several members but yes, like everyone else, I'm trying to stand firm on ground that is moving ahead of the volcano we hope will blow soon!

I'm in a slightly better position in that I know I have to sell some shares between now and mid-January to buy a house. So that clears the isa. The rest is being held in a pension and will stay there, invested in GGP until it gets sold or matures into something very big. My immediate concern, therefore, is getting the timing right for the first bit!

Central Portugal. It was quite eerie. We went into the cloud line and could hear the whirr from windmills but couldnt see them in the mist. You'd trudge around and suddenly there they would be. The guy said to pick everything then he rooted through the baskets and tossed out all the dodgy ones. The rest we ate later. All fried up and served with pasta or rice. The Cep mushrooms are like meat. Very interesting day.

Yes although most are simply inedible. The thing to do is become expert at some species that have no poisonous look-alikes. I am not there yet but it was great fun to be foraging under the guidance of an expert.

haha. I know what you mean antigua. It's not so easy to switch off even when you know that very little new information can come to the attention of shareholders at the weekend.

I don't think I mentioned it on here but we went into the mountains on a mushroom hunting course last weekend. Yes it's true! That took my mind off it. Some of the mushrooms we scoffed looked hideous but tasted delicious. We found two from an ancient species that were almost black. Ate them of course!
