This is very reminiscent of novavax vs the big boys. One of the big boys revealed their hand today, the other one to follow soon and SNG still recruiting patients for P3, that says it all.

You are right willibo, the wider Oxford lobby have complete monopoly on this. You only have to look at John bell and how much sway he has in Government. The amount rubbish he spouts but yet its taken seriously. This has been the problem in this country, those who have no expertise in the area, have the ears of the decision makers.

Roche only got into bed with Atea in October last year, I would have thought they might have had a look at SNG before then.

Arrogance/greed whatever you want to call it. They should have engaged with the big boys to do lot of this work at much accelerated pace. But ofcourse they would have exacted a price for it but the pie is so large, the returns would have been huge for SNG. Just look at Pfizer and Biontech. Biontech is valued at over $60 billion!

The company itself is playing down the active2 trial as their own home trial disappointed, for precisely this reason that it may disappoint. So its a bit of expectation management going on, which is the right thing to do IMO. Once thing has been clarified from the presentation is that there will be no EUA till after their sprinter P3.

Merck and Roche if successful in December will have at least 2/3 months, possibly more head start on SNG.

Bojo - agree. for every share there comes a point in the trajectory where sentiment exhausts the bulls and thereafter its the results that matter. SNG is at that point now.

It’s their inability to complete things at an opportune time is the issue. Have a look at Atea/Roche partnership, by December they will have readout from phase 2 and phase 3 completed within a year or so.

Would Atea have got things done this quick on their own, I highly doubt it. But with Roche coming on board, it’s accelerated everything from trials recruitment to manufacturing deals etc…. All of this matters as it’s a race if there is similar efficacy treatment choice. I hope some analyst asks RM about this.

I am not doubting their science, I am just relaying the realities of the market place. You have to be out there when the need is at the highest before someone else pips you to the post. Even with Activ2, its only going to progress to Phase3. Yes, its validation, but we already know that it works from their own P2.

They should have partnered with a major and got this treatment out already. Yes, rewards would be smaller, but sometimes its better to have a piece of the pie than none at all.

Don't run away, enlighten us then as to what's happening.

You mean license out the candidates.

The knowledge base platform is their real IP. They should never share the know how of how to build that. However, they can provide access to it with strict NDAs. Thats how I would do it if I was in charge.

Why would you license out the platform that produces the candidates. That would be suicidal. I presume the platform is kept under "Trade Secrets" pathway like CocaCola and its secret formula.

Most of you know I have huge position in Novavax, which is the best in class vaccine and trials were being conducted at similar time frame as AZ, Moderna and Pfizer. Despite that, almost a year on, they still don't have the EUA whereas the other 3 backed by big Pharma have delivered billions of jabs into arms already.

aj242 - You are ill informed, they are working at breakneck speed. Why don't you take time out and read what they have done already and and are doing in short space of time.

SNG is sloth and not even a tortoise in comparison.

End of November is the target date for the readout. Stick it in your diary as that could have huge implications for your investment here. I too have a small position here and the one backed by Roche.
