Spent some time researching this today and can’t get my mind around one simple question - why on Earth would someone of Ronjon Nag’s education, reputation and experience agree to join little old cpai as an Exec Director?

The only thing I can see that cpai offers is its listed status and, of course, Nag has plenty of other businesses that might reverse into that. Am I missing something?

Good find Gubbie - another one to add to the bow. From Companies House I noticed that Carus has only one shareholder - Kyoritsu Holding Corp. This is a big Japanese company. ChatGbt tells us this about them

Pathways to Antimicrobial Clinical Efficacy (PACE) is a £30 million initiative launched in October 2023 to combat the global threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). It brings together LifeArc, Innovate UK, and the Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) to accelerate early-stage innovation in developing new tests and treatments for AMR.

In 2023 they funded £10m of therapeutics projects, and £5m in 2024 for diagnostic projects. An essential part of PACE is the bringing together of key partners to accelerate AMR work. We are one of the Partners. So are the UKHSA.

I think this, along with those others involved in the recent Malaria contract award, shows we are certainly regarded as one of the best at what we do.

The daft thing is that whilst there hasn’t been a flurry of news since the raise/acquisitions, all the news we have had has been very positive, including c£2.6m in contract orders, and geographic and service expansion. That would represent nearly a third of the fully combined current group income when compared to the previous year.

What is frustrating, and what I do think may be holding us back, is the lack of news/progress on the things we (or at least I) were excited about last year, like Salistick, LVOne, Septiloop, all of which seem to be wading continually through the regulatory mire. IDAP was supposed to get things into the NHS quickly!

One last thing - in the recent Guardian article we and our clients featured heavily. It would not surprise me in the slightest if we are in fact involved with all the other things noted there, but that we have not been told about, like Pet diagnostics, concussion tests, and sweat based drug testing (something Hand alluded to if I recall correctly in the last IMC presentation)

And then of course we still have the Walgreens comment that Courtney at Crest Medical made recently, as well as our first Eco Test launches.

Well at least we can now understand why ABDX recruited for a BD Director rather than promote Liam Currivan into the role.

Plenty of people from ABDX "liking" his post so it doesn't look like it was anything acrimonious.

It seems unlikely we will get a TU before the interims, which will be the first time that has happened since the company listed. So in some respect I can see Terry's point of view - take the cash and then forget about us....until next time. That's no way to treat shareholders.

But equally I agree with HarChris that everything at the mo is pure conjecture. We will get the interims before the month end, and then we can see where we are. Personally the two things I will be looking at most in the financials are gross profit (because I am sure there will be one of integration costs to skew the net profits), and cash flow projections.

Everyone knows I like ABDX, but I am frustrated by forever seeing us at conferences etc but rarely seeing much resulting from them. I keep asking myself, why no TU? Is is just disdain for shareholders? Could it be Yates is waiting for something imminent to announce and then include in the interims, making a TU a bit redundant? Or is it that the numbers are poor.

I just don't know. But of those three I don't think its the last. We have had terrible numbers in the past but Yates has still put out a TU.

For anyone interested, EVOO AI Plc lodged its confirmation statement at Companies House last week, listing all its shareholders as at 14/12.

I haven’t looked into them all, but there are a lot for a company of its size, from across the world. And it would seem to me from the other CH records that most came in during 2024. Make of it what you will….

Oh, and before the doomsayers point at the compulsory strike off notice, that will only have been because the company were late in submitting the confirmation statement, with the notice removed as soon as it was.

Just wondering what people’s realistic expectations are of getting news on the significant contract that we were told was pushed back to Q1 25? I’m hoping for something, alongside the new version release which has gathered huge and positive reaction already, at least as far as I can see.

News being reported that Trump is due to sign an EO "eliminating" the dept of education. Whatever you think of him (and I certainly have no regard whatsoever), he is getting on with everything he promised to deliver even though this particular development would lead to a showdown with congress.

I think there is some of that, and there were pieces published by the BBC yesterday talking about the inaccuracy of PSA rapid self tests. But I do think we have to remember that clinical tests for self testing are only a small part of the ABDX business. A lot of what we do is looking at environmental, animal, food testing etc.
