I think the sp dropped because the change of address was not explained and people wonder the reason why. Probably cost cutting but this should have been presented as a positive. BOD are not aware of the sensitivities of the market particularly at this time when investors are already bruised. They probably think that because they believe the company will reward investors long term then wobbles short term can be handled. For investors this is frustrating and unnerving. Potential investors are put off and this in itself holds back the sp.

Context definitely whl. It has been taken as if they've been evicted for not paying the rent. A positive reason such as cost reduction could have sent the sp higher. They need to run the rns's through us before they release :)

You said a lot for someone who is speechless (lol). It's difficult to argue with you under current circumstances and you make fair points. I just think the products will eventually win out here. My hope is that the bod have been so embarassed with the accounting fiasco that they are quickly trying to make amends for investors by aggresively reducing costs so that profitability comes earlier than expected. The orders have increased, we know that. A few extras combined with low costs could see an rns that restores pride and optimism.

They do seem detached from rns's and their effect on the market. It's strange how the sp dropped before the rns landed. It's bound to alarm people after recent history and will shake out the weak. Just remember the quality products and the high level of orders.

The rns should have perhaps given a reason as to the change eg reducing costs in our drive to achieve proftability

They were in Jersey before and now just have a PO address there. Is this not them reducing costs as the final results rns mentioned 'General and Admin costs relating to the Jersey holding company'? These were $618,000, a not insignificant sum.

Insightful and reassuring post Mungo, thanks. 6 months is a short time in my normal investment strategy.

True for any small Company and a high % of sales to start with but they fall dramatically as sales increase eg you pay rent/rates on a property, this stays the same but it's impact reduces if you put on an extra production shift or increase throughput. Not a worry for me but right to raise it. We are in the process of increasing those very sales.

:) I'm chilled as I remain v positive about star. Just highlighting the unreasonable sp movements or lack of reasonable ones a share can experience. LTH's need worry less and can even benefit by buying on these movements when they know the future is good. Off for more chilling now, perhaps a walk in the woods :))

the financials come out close to their previous indications will the sp go back to what it was. No. If they are markedly different will the market accept that the sp has already been punished and stay the same. No. Galling but we have to learn to play the system and take long term positions.

No hand holding needed, just have a stiffener and get on with something interesting. What on earth has changed from the Company that was gaining wider recognition, experiencing record sales, heading towards profitability and was being talked of as being a 5+bagger by people on this site. Nothing. It is all still there.

Interesting reading gm and lc, thanks. It's exciting that star are involved in this innovative technology that could change farming practices. It will be interesting to see how this develops and grows along with the other products star have that are gaining market recognition. The high level of orders they are getting augurs well for the future. Looking forward to getting next week out of the way and then onwards and upwards.

It sure is. Perhaps we could do with a bit of storm Emma getting into the sails. I think you are right in thinking people are waiting for the confirmed financials. I feel they will be ok and not cause any ripples. The respected large investor who has spoken to the bod increased his holding thereafter. Had the mood music been different I would have thought any extra investment would have waited until all known. We will probably get a healthy trading update also and so I can see the sails billowing out. I have a little money coming my way but unfortunately it doesn't come until end of month otherwise I would add a little extra mysellf

quiet I agree. I wish I knew more about the workings of MM's. They must be sitting on a few shares now and don't seem in a hurry to sell. Buyer lined up or expecting sp rise and sell higher?

and what I take forward from it. I'm disappointed (lost money on paper) but still just as positive on the future returns for my investment. - the BOD will have learnt from the mistakes and now pay as much attention to all aspects of the business as they obviously do to the sales growth. There is an 'increased order level for the higher margin products'. Profit is coming. - a respected investor has spoken to the BOD and increased his holding. A vote of confidence that the market correction is overdone and that the audited results will be acceptable to the market.

I've learnt a lot about the psychology of investing and how people get hustled out of money. 5. I'm pleased I never wasted any time on learning how to read balance sheets and financial reports 6. I still believe in the products of star and the long term investment potential.
