Whizz - point of order if I may here - yes, thy are spending cash but suggesting they are burning cash for no reason other than you are not satisfied with the progress shown to date is a ‘he who shouts loudest’ type headline.

Yes, I know I criticised them for raising money for transmission line and then not spending it. But the not spending it part (at hat time) was the correct decision. The disingenuous part was how they sold the fund raise in first place.
And I keep coming back to - have they got all land use rights in place now? If not, or until they do, then they cannot commit the spend on the TL contracts because all it takes is for one idiot /opportunistic land owner along the route to stymie things.

Project plan and timelines;
Gas flows and dewatering levels, including both horizontal wells are producing at steady state (or by when that is expected);
Gas composition (to allay fears on additional stripping costs);
Confirmation all signs offs in place for the PPA and BPOPF funding package, and available for draw down;
All Environmentals confirmed in good order, including land use rights;

Get all this done and reported at end of this month - that would be good.

I have frequently asked or posted on reasons why I believe Tlou has been unable to get things going quickly in Botswana. Any worthwhile conversation around this gets drowned or diverted off topic by …..
One of my suggestions has been political risk in Botswana is not well enough appreciated here by many, given the ongoing spat between past President and current President since late 2018.
Examples of the spat are everywhere within Botswana; my comments on this have been embellished by our resident think tank expert to respond making flippant remarks re looming outbreak of civil war.
Classic Smith with all his charms and over-imagination etc.
Here is a link to the pretty much latest salvo in the Presidential ding dong. There are rival factions within Botswana, often readily explained as a north/ south or Francistown (includes Serowe) / Gabarone or poor/ less poor divide.

Judge for yourself; do your own research; most of all just appreciate the civil service and Govt of Botswana doesn’t function efficiently at the best of times so when you layer in regime change, factional disputes, concerns over past corruption claims AND covid, then we are starting to get to where a real conversation can be had as to why Tlou has been flapping around for past few years.

Botswana has had a shortage of domestic power generation for over 20 years. Along came Tlou Energy with great plans and ambitions (just read their ASX listing document) to help resolve this ….
And here we all are in 2022…and Botswana still has a shortage of domestic power generation.
How come?
Tony is supposed to be amazing (per Smith) - but this still isn’t fixed.
Tony is still talking about delivering what the ASX listing document said was the reason for listing - 11 years ago.
Tony recently said power generation was the primary strategy for the company - why can’t you believe that Smith, given that you believe everything else he says.

Tell you what - why don’t you tell everyone here just how many shares you now own in Tlou. Impress us with your largesse. Then we can all sit back and say - Fair play man; he talks a lot about the company and he was prepared to put his wallet where his mouth (and keyboard) (all too frequently) communicate.

My guess is you think you are both clever and funny with all your ‘jolly’ story lines. Little wonder you are so capable of crystal ball gazing as to how the Tlou story might unfold ahead.
Back in the real world, people that make real money like to consider risk factors in their decision making.
Given you have shared so many of your life experiences on this board (none of which are relevant to Tlou I might add), I wonder when you will share the time, nay years and years, you spent working in a think tank. On the off chance there was a Q & A at the AGM, a reasonable question would be whether or not supplies of fly ash really are dwindling. Or whether dumping of existing fly ash stocks is being experienced.
Generally, the only way major corps change their production processes is when key components in the supply chain are under pressure. And given there does not seem to be much hurry to bring pozzolan into their supply chains as yet, this suggests there is still plenty of flyash washing around the market.

Smith - is there a reason you think posters here do not appreciate the SM possibilities ahead? Given you post long and often about it, that says you think the world of it.
Fair enough; that is your right.
As for me, maybe others (since I cannot speak directly for them), it is new technology in a relatively new industry where the partner (not Tlou) is developing a prototype to hopefully prove a new production concept. That is the way of it with new technologies - I am pretty sure most here get and understand that.
But given your fixation with it, it seems you have already decided the ‘proof of concept’ has pretty much been proved and the risk barriers ahead are negligible.
Perhaps you could just accept others here appreciate there is still risk and uncertainty surrounding Tlou’s Hydrogen plans. And just because these are expressed (from the abundance of caution perspective), does that mean it is sensible for you to express your extreme optimism as a counter balance…..
it is one thing to believe in a management team of a company; it is quite another for them to navigate the company through to commercial success. And in a country where Govt and Ministry are skeptical of things they don’t understand …. There are reasons why Tlou has struggled for so long in Botswana and just because it does finally appear they are making good headway, again that doesn’t mean snail’s pace progress will quickly transition into a sprint.
And then there are continent risk, country risk, political risk, technology risk, environmental risk, funding risk (currently only partially funded), global markets risk (very much increasing), just to mention a few of them …..
But at the end of the day ….. it is your money ( and your kids inheritance perhaps).

Whizz - looking forward as you suggest, if nothing much has changed then yes, I would agree that the directors would be the ones primarily responsible.
Especially because they have always been keen to tell us every milestone passed, every achievement ticked. They said loads months back about progress on the transmission line construction shortly after the fund raise that was sold to us as raising the funds for that to proceed.
So the management team had better get cracking for sure - and actually I see no reason currently why they cannot kick on and get things moving.
But I still don’t think they will have built a 100km TL within 1 year - TIA and all that. But I sure hope they prove me wrong.
One other part I am struggling with - 2MW power generation (which is their initial plan). That isn’t a power station; maybe 10MW ends up a power plant, but it surely must be a fairly rudimentary one at best.
We spend a lot of talking here about the power generation project. But really the output (in terms of electricity) of this project isn’t much to get so excited about in reality.
But that probably won’t stop us all posting all our rollocks…. for months on end….

Well…. don’t you think there is enough ‘make up’ posted here already.

As the company itself said at/ around the time of signing the PPA, CBM gas to power is the primary commercial strategy. Now they have the contract for power generation supply, and confirmation of associated funding, it shouldn’t be too difficult to work out their immediate focus - how many times has it been said transmission line is the critical path item on the project plan. The next RNS and glossy presentation posted on website should deal with the detail of grid connection resulting in first revenues.
Whether they choose to share flow rates and gas composition remains to be seen. It is what is is; and I doubt it is commercially sensitive info to Sekaname or the market, so why not provide some detail. Of course, choosing not to only makes people think there is a problem or issue….
Solar - needs a grid connection, so I don’t expect to hear much about it for much of 2022.
Hydrogen - that is the current blue sky palava. Yes, we will hear lots about it from middle of 2022 onwards. How much of it is real - time will tell.
Orapa - the great unknown. Nobody in Botswana is flowing sufficient gas for a 9MW power plant, let alone 90MW plant. If Ministry is serious about getting Orapa converted to gas, then whoever wins the tender will have to import gas for certainly a year or 2. My expectation though is Orapa gas supply tender will go nowhere fast in 2022.
But of course I will be shot down; told how negative I am; told how little I know; and Low and behold we will get to the end of 2022 and the greater majority will yet again be scratching their behinds as to why a company with such a compelling investment story and opportunity cannot get things moving at a good clip.
In fairness, a lot of this is not the fault of Management and Board. And no amount of moaning by Whizz is going to change that.

Interesting that the price pushed to all year high at close of play. Suggests more to come next year if the players were happy with a relatively high this year end finish.
