I only invest in companies that generate good revenue and reward shareholders. I normally understand their business but that's only based on what information they choose to disclose. In this case, they don't disclose much about what they really do to generate the good returns.

Maybe I'm missing something. You obviously have a good understanding of what they do. Can you share the information?

Why take the risk in holding big oil and gas shares. They don't exactly reward loyal share holders. Take a look at DEC. Low risk and high reward divedend + SP increase potential.

On Tuesday 9th May, Dec will announce more great results. However, due too favourable hedge prices, this time we will see a headline profit. Hopefully attracting those that don't understand the company. I'm sure Dec will go on the promo trail to bring in some big investors. They need a climbing SP to make the US listing attractive.

No, they have no problem raising funds. They also have the option to not expand in the next few years and run with what they have. In that scenario they would become very cash rich quickly and could use that capital to continue buying cheap assets.

Don't be silly. Quality company with a great divedend. It will climb back soon.

As we saw in COVID times, if gas price is very low, a lot of companies will go bankrupt quite quickly. DEC will not. Supply will drop, forcing up the price and it's business as usual.

A high gas price is DECs biggest risk. Assets are too expensive for them to buy and squeeze out the value. It's probably why they always quickly move to acquire when the gas prices are low.

If only our domestic supply prices would drop in relation to gas base price!

HL is always a good place too look for divi dates.

According to DEGIRO the Q1 earnings are released on 26/4/23 but I'm not sure it's correct. Its normally released in mid May.

4.375c ex div on 25th May. Q1 trading statement about a week before. Gas average should be below the hedge price so we can expect them to report a profit.

Looks like someone wants to offload a large holding. The good news is that there seems to be a lot of buying support to mop up the sales.

Surprised the SP is stable with the high amount of selling today. I'm guessing their must be a good buyer(s) taking the shares. Hopeful when the selling stops we can finally get some positive price movement.

Trotsky, I'm not a seller but to me it looks like a fear rather than a balanced decision to bail at the historic low point. Even with a recession and/or further rate increases, things don't look as bad as the SP suggests. But I'm a buy low and sell high kind of guy so I'm always going to be positive at this level :) Could be a good takeover target at these levels.

Some companies cannot work from home and need an office. Those that can are opting for hybrid and still need a collaboration space. A 38% fall in the SP is dethatched from the lower NAV decline. Add a 13% dividend and I believe the risk is pretty low in the mid to long term. Saying that, I'm hoping to top up in the new tax year so selfishly happy for further SP decline this week.

Hang in there folks. It looks like we are almost at the peak of interest rate rises. Failing energy prices has started to flow into all parts of the economy. Inflation will quickly subside. Fairly sure any share purchase in high yield REITs now is the smart investor choice.

Please stop using the words 'high risk'. Investment fear does not mean a company has high risk strategy. DEC is about as low risk as you can get in Oil and Gas Investment. They only buy proven, long term value wells. They don't need to search or worry where the gas is coming from. They have a very low production system. The high dividend is result of DECs confidence in the future and past proven success.

The article shows little understanding of the business model and accounting used. It suggests the company is a high risk due to borrowing and low energy prices. Both incorrect. The borrowing has always been invested in high value, low decline assets. Currently valued in the billions. Most of the gas produced is at fixed hedged price and not subject to any price movement. I wish these journalists did some homework before writing such nonsense.
