Hi lebugue-addick, I am sick and tired of the SP dropping - scratch that - I am trying to understand what accretive assets means in terms of a possible share price that would benefit me (and others) and an illustrative example would be helpful. I am minded by what Rick Rule said ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uf4u0GvcML0 ) words to the effect that a company can be diluted so much that the benefits fall to the more recent investors and to board members [ to the detriment of long term shareholders who are not in a position to average down or top up at these low prices]. We all know that Havieron is the star prize, but who gets the benefit. By way of a negative illustration I stated that a 4p share price with a £2bn mc would not sit well with me. I am all in with GGP (with profit) and willing to take all the risk hoping to see that second Lassonde wave take us to 38p and beyond by 2024. ATB MrEMC2

Hi LA please explain it again because it is hard to grasp. This is what I seen: Say I had 10,000 GGP shares

10,000 x 12p = £1,200
10,000 x 8p = £800

If market capitalisation increases and so does dilution going forward when does 'potential value' get me my money?

I don't want a share price of 4p and market cap of £2bn (10,000 x 4p = £400) Thanks in advance MrEMC2

Hi Panama , happy that you started this threat but note that in 2018 the share price fell from over 2.20p to under 0.50p (97%) so perhaps many would consider buying at fractions of a penny pure luck and of course patience needed as it took two years to recover to 2.20p and upwards. History has a habit of repeating itself so fingers crossed having experienced two years of pain patience will now pay off with a smartish rise from 7p to 38p and above . ATB MrEMC2

Short answer been in too long ha ha! First buy was in December 2017 and fortunately bought most of my modest GGP holding after the Newcrest debacle. In late 2020 sold my YU shares and kept GGP. Had I done it the other way round and reinvested proceeds in YU quite possibly now would be up +£700k; sliding doors! It needs a bit of luck and lots of patience to get the rewards. Still all in with GGP and waiting for that Lassonde second wave. GLA

You'll remember that SD was prepared to pay NCM for the 5% !! Wonder if he had an inkling back then that a bid for NCM was on the cards?

People say it would be accretive but what does it mean to PIs with a modest holding bought at much higher share price? Say someone bought 50,000 shares at an average of 22.82p . That person would wish to see A SHARE PRICE of 23p and above asap.

The questions for that person would be: at what value would GGP be for a share price of 23p ? How many shares would be in issue (excluding share consolidation)? Could it be achieved by just increasing debt?

GGP current value about £426m ; share price +8p

£1bn GGP value @ 5.057bn shares = 19.77p share price
£1.163bn @ 5.057bn = 23p [so GGP value need needs to go up 173% to get money back]

£1bn @ 6bn = 16.67p.
£1.38bn @ 6bn = 23p [GGP value needs to go up 223%]

£1bn @ 7bn = 14.29p
£1.61bn @ 7bn = 23p [GGP value needs to go up 278%]

£4bn @ 5.057bn = 79.10p [GGP value needs to go up 839%]
£4bn @ 6bn = 66.67p
£4bn x 7bn = 57.14p

Ortex Data shows 35.94m shares on loan, -20k but
the FCA short selling spreadsheet no longer shows a short position in GGP (ie no individual short position = or >0.5%)

That could be because of the increase in number of GGP shares in issue 5,015,876,282 ( 0.5% = 25,079,381)
or (more hopefully) JP Morgan has reduced it's shorts position.
