DU I linked and watched the full video over the weekend, I was in a good mood around 5pm Saturday after my beloved Everton thrashed Brentford 1-0, I even watched MOD without the pi55 wind and waffle that usually accompanies it. For me it made it very clear that the transition away from fossil fuels and the lack of the minerals needed make 2050 a dream, hope you shared it with Greta. Keep posting.

Really surprised by the continuing fallout from this SVB. So testing my weekend posting and bought minutes ago at 241.24p (242.44p after costs). looking for over 250p in short order, if not achieved will take the 13.9p dividend in the next 3 maths

Fridays panic over SVB sent markets tumbling, LGEN fell 11p. The latest news from CNBC has almost reversed the fall with US futures up 270 points.

Just as a final follow up to the above title the LGEN price action ahead of dividend payment is rather interesting:
14th April 2021: closing price 290p 15th 12.54p dividend paid. (closing price 26th February 2021 259.30p)
12th August 2021: closing price 279.70p 13th 5.18p dividend paid.
20th April 2022: closing price 277.80p 21st 13.27p dividend paid. - ( closing price 11th March 2022 258p)
17th August 2022 closing price 282.30p 18th 5.44p dividend paid.
The trend is that the share price rises as the dividend payment date approaches. Markets had a poor day on Friday impacted by the goings on at SVB in the US and decent trading opportunity may be available earlier this week ahead of a good dividend. All just imo.

Totally agree - Once you make your initial investment (at the right price) it becomes difficult to lose. That is assuming (and you make that assumption by determining the share trend) you have knowledge of the stock. My trend range for LGEN is 200p to 300p so I take the mid price, buy below sell above. I am ignoring the impact of COVID. The vast majority of FTSE100 companies have wide high and low annual share values and throw in decent dividends to compensate for your targets not being met.

As to the start date thats when I started looking at this. I originally bought LGEN pre COVID at 268p. COVID hit they fell below 150p and I eventually plucked up the courage to buy more when the hit 174p. I still hold them and I have received all the dividends paid in the period. Then I have traded them several time after all costs making £2393.98 after all costs. I have only sold when they have gone above 285p and always got back in lower - on one occasion they continued the rise to over 300p (briefly) however they came back in quite short order.

Thanks for the reply. No the 111p does not take into account costs so:
If you are playing with 5000 share @ 250p each time the stamp duty would be £62.50 (£62.50 x 7 = 437.50) and I use ii commission would be £7.99 (£7.99 x7 = 55.93 x 2 = 111.86) and further commission on the sales of the same.
Total costs 549.36 on 5000 shares - 11p so leaving 100p after all costs. The ii commission has recently reduced to £5.99 a trade and they give you a commission free trade per month, so there my be a small saving there.

A strange heading but let me explain:
1: Investing if you wanted to buy LGEN below 250p you could have bought them on 29th January 2021 (for about 244p). If you then sat on the investment by the time this latest declared dividend is paid you would have received 50.46p in total which (if my calculator works properly) equates to 8.27% pa.

2: Trading starting again you wanted to buy below 250p you buy on the same day 29th January 2021 for the same 244p. Now your strategy is to sell above 260p and you have no interest in the dividend paid during your period. The history shows you would have traded the stock on 7 occasions and taking the mid-market prices when going above 260p and then again when going below 250p the result would have been profit of 111p. As of today you would not be holding any stock the last sale being triggered on 3rd March 2023 at 263.60p. The current price is circa 252.50p so a bad opening this coming Monday may well trigger the next buy below 250p and with a 13p+ dividend due in a few weeks a rise above 260p may well occur before that payment date. Both strategies are worth considering, one requires no effort, the more profitable one includes a bit of work and effort.

I continue to ponder the possibility of Centrica being involved in any F/O. They continue their first share buy back program and they have now bought back 170m shares (initial program is for £250m) and they are being held in treasury. When they had their most recent results (16/2/23) they announced a further £300m buy back to commence when the current one concludes. Anyone fancy 5,6,7 to 1 Centrica for JOG. Not out of the question CNA will suffer WFT. What else might they do with all these shares?

We rarely get snow on the north west coast, but we have several inches up here today. My mind has drifted as JOG goes in the opposite direction to my Smart Meter. Hopefully this trend will reverse before April, I need a holiday.

MPO - I like the way you totally glossed over the huge increase in predicted revenue and just mentioned the increased case burn! Misleading to say the least, but that's the name of your game.
I agree I did not mention the increase in revenue from circa £4m to £13m which is impressive. I would add, I have no agenda my holding in AFC has remained unchanged for several years and there are no plans to change that. Todays RNS was extremely positive, however I am not getting carried away as we have had numerous positive RNS's over the past 2 years with great EXPECTATIONS that sadly have never materialised. As of today AFC has circa 760m shares in issue and if those cash numbers reported by Zeus are accurate and the expected progress is achieved there will be many more shares issued at the next fund raise, unless they take on debt.
