-13% makes it sound like a poor investment: but is that true, I think not. The period includes the disruptive period of Brexit and a (hopefully) once in a lifetime pandemic, and then the last week or so impacted by banking issues in the US, which (because its the US) impacts all market - it knocked about 40p off LGEN. In defence of LGEN they will have paid out over 89p in dividends in that period (13.92p due in June) and the share price has exceeded 300p on two occasions. Aviva in the same period have fallen from 514p to about 420p a large percentage, again they have paid good dividends and been a lot higher on multiple occasions. In fact the market caps of many FTSE 100 stocks have similar price patterns, perhaps that is why many analysts and commentators are reporting that the UK market is cheap and attractive to world wide investors.
