As far as I understand the government have the right to goods manufactured on government equipment. So these machines either haven’t been put in place yet or have been gathering dust. Just stupid really as the government would still profit from goods being produced by the equipment. Instead they ‘drag heels and pick their noses’ before deciding on which sovereign test meets their high standards’ and in the meantime the public can use the crappy tests and Innova CEOs can buy a few more $5m homes and maybe another jet??

Hey TallPaul who is Yeung? I did dig into this. Bethell's wife's father, looks like he was in soft furnishings or something. Obviously must be retired, so perhaps they are are friendly at the golf club. I suspect that Huang had gov contacts from I believe a land rover deal he was involved in. He also studied in Scotland for a masters or something. There is definitely some contacts that are being 'hidden'. Unless the government divulge HOW the contracts came to be and why they are getting 'special' treatment, I suspect we will continue to just guess. I think it is still worth chipping away and passing on to the Good Law Project.

I have to agree also with Doggy as well, if they are getting worried about anything being 'uncovered' they will start announcing UK LFTs as the pressure will eventually get to them... so chipping away is no bad thing and it is not wrong to support UK Diagnostics regardless of investment. It also makes sense from a citizen point of view... why wouldn't we want the best tests? Why wouldn't the government? We know the science is good, and Paul from the Huff also had the quote from someone in the industry that the government had 'screwed them over'. The pressure has to be getting to somone...

*previously contracted for the DHSC for 8-9 months

Innova have two very senior employee that previously contracted for the DHSC for 8-9s from end of last summer, then magically started working for Innova. Surely the government have contracts written that would prevent the 'poaching' of staff or from the other perspective, properly vetting staff to be employed by the government in such keys roles as logisitics for the DHSC. Andrew Norman Brogan has no apparent employment history prior to this despite being 45 years old. All I can see is that he was a secretary on his dad's 'Just Trucking' limited company that is long disolved. How does anyone not have linkedin employment history if they are 'contracting'. I could understand if he were of an older generation, but he is the same generation as me. Smells fishy.

Additionally Innova have had the google reviews removed. I would say they either have contacts at Google or the deep pockets are turning their 'cogs' as Neale Hanvey suggests.

So what we know:

1. The government have not passed the Avacta Test
2. The Avacta test has been independently validated to a very high CT count and high S&S (not to even mention Mologic's test as well)

So THIS is what I don't understand:

WHY haven't the government looked at the discrepancy in detail given that these are UK developed and manufactured tests??? Clearly Avacta and Mologic have tried to have conversations and a lot of 'stonewalling' has been going on from the government. The question is why does a Brexit government not bend over backwards to support UK companies when there is are clear discrepancies being demostrated.

Secondly, why are Innova not being held to the same rigorous testing? I understand the government have bought and want to use, but you should still be putting them through the same testing.

Really simple questions that need answering, though I expect there to be waffle, deleted emails / messages, and more stonewalling to follow. You couldn't make it up.

PL - well done! I guess all we can do is chip away but by bit with these MPs. Mine is a Tory and I’ve already fallen out with him back in January. He literally tried to shield himself with at risk kids to avoid answering questions about children being sent back to school amid rocketing cases - never has he ever done anything for children, at risk or otherwise.

But anyone with a non Tory MP should definitely write to their MP. Maybe the letter could be reposted on this thread?

I might write a letter to mine to ask if he uses his personal phone to conduct government matters and if he does, does he back up emails and WhatsApp… I’m sure it will p i s s him off but hey… he was involved in the expenses scandal so he might need ‘reminding’

AS clearly went Spain because of independent access to sample issues in the UK. He has stated it was independent and don’t bloody forget that the kits were held up in Brexit customs. If Avacta themselves had been doing it they would have just travelled with it… Brexit was in all the headlines.

Thanks from me too. Most interesting read on here in a long time! A family friend has recently had cancer and was treated with a different chemo drug but same family of drugs. She suffered severely with low platelets and her last round had to be cancelled. She worries that it wasn’t fully treated because of this. IF this does work and even preventing some of the acuteness of side effects you can imagine the benefits.
I agree management are clever when it comes to science. I would also say they are inexperienced in dealing with government (as the rest of the UK diagnostics have been as well). I’m not where you get degree in dealing with corrupt bureaucratic government … but I hear that if you pay £250k you get a honoury 1st class in it. Perhaps Al forgot to pay up? Joking aside, there is clear gov incompetence and it is hard to tell where the corruption begins.

I would argue that the lack of humour is more telling about some of those that turn up occasionally. The FUD preachers are akin to missionaries knocking on your door… even Jesus would hide behind the curtains

Well that is a good point beinthlead. If they DID include Innova as needing the same evaluation and it showed poor results… how would that look? Clearly they don’t have confidence it would stand up to scrutiny, otherwise it would be require the same evaluation as any others. There is nothing preventing the EUA being extended whilst the evaluation is done. Someone knows better than to put it out there for scrutiny.

Yes this clause was known about when the changes came in. I think this article is actually good news. Paul has done a lot of research and spelt it out nicely. At least the shadow HS has actually made a comment. The more this gets the more pressure there will be to buy better UK tests. It is embarrassing for a brexit government… but more press needs to cover it.

The government have a lot to answer for and the question that needs answering is why???? Why let machines gather dust? Who gains? Someone out there is getting something… the incompetence can’t be THIS bad - especially for a BREXIT governmentright?

Limit your screen time - it sucks the life out of you. The one you take issue with is on here all day and all night… look what it does to them… (I’m assuming that there must be more than one… or maybe they are on modafinil) not a good way to have a long life right?

I can understand the need to update legislation due to the internet age - but clearly this should not go unchallenged... there has to be a clear line drawn, this doesn't seem transparent at all. Why aren't journalists kicking up about this?
