I do wonder why posters like scinv_temp exist, and the only conclusion I can come to is that they are trying to depress the share price in order to buy cheap (btw shorting is not a thing in most AIM shares, so it's not even as sophisticated as that). There is simply no other motivation, unless they are simply attention seekers who like the sound of their own voice?

A couple of weeks back, scinv was insisting that patients actually make their own choices, now it seems he is implying that the oncologists / trial organisers are in cahoots to tell patients what to do.

Please.

The ORR in the SCIB1 trial is quite clearly defined as:

"The ORR is defined as the proportion of patients with a complete or partial response at any time after the start

of treatment."

Patients will be guided by the oncologist. Of course the ultimate choice is theirs, but most will not have the knowledge or energy to make an informed choice, and will accept the recommendation of the expert.

Todays RNS is actually a really big deal, and one that I have been waiting for (and tbh a little concerned that it wasn't going to happen).

Modi is, if proven to work better than current treatments, the most valuable asset Scancell have. And this approval is essentially, lots of experts agreeing that it is likely to work.

SCIB1 / iSCIB1 alone are worth a decent multiple of the current sp (IMO), but the moditope pipeline is the big one, and this news is basically, all systems go on modi-1.

It's a shame this news has been lost a bit amongst the proactive event.

Scancell are putting in all the effort making potential partners/suitors aware of the Scope trial.

For a limited time, these people will be keeping a close eye on Scancell, but there is limited value in releasing data that does not meet their criteria (i.e. a minimum number of patients), else they will be paying attention to the wrong news.

Attention decays with time and exposure. So releasing non-conclusive data now would be wasted effort.

However, the fact Scancell are putting in the effort now indicates they are not too far off.

That's my take anyway.

They must think the sp is at a low, and that's why they did the bed and isa now, to maximise the number of shares put into the tax-free ISA, so they are expecting the sp to rise.

Technically, they could announce next morning, but let's not get out hopes up.

There won't necessarily be more data. The proactive events may be timetabled in advance, and/or the intent of this one could be a simple "everything is on track" message to investors.

The maths teel is there is a 90% chance, on existing published data, of a 70% or higher response rate in the full population. That's worth getting out of bed for.

I've always found that those who are the most aggressive are the least informed and the least honest.

Bad news for the patients and Merck, but positive for Scancell.

- scib1 / iscib1+ have virtually no side-effects so puts them at the head of the pack for avoiding these issues with combo's

- Merck could now on the lookout for a replacement.

Interesting he questions that Lindy was asked - they would have been pre-prepared, and careful to avoid any info not already in the public domain. Lindy must know how the scib1 non-reported patients are doing and she was even more smiley than usual.

This was basically a message to investors saying "don't stress, everything is fine".

Scancell never, ever stand still, there will be stuff going on they can't talk about.

Just rambling now, but this could be a normal distribution (with response rates) or a binomial (with binary response / no response). I used to understand this stuff when I was at Uni!

But I see your point about how they calculate / what the 90% means, and Bermuda has eloquently summarised.

If anyone can remember the stats / normal distribution equations, we could probably calculate the percent chance of 85% or higher response rates in the whole population.
