Traditionally, the sp would fall by the amount of the dividend the day after ex-div, and slowly climb back up for the next ex-div date.

However we are not really in a traditional market here, lots of factors at aply:

- how many shorts will close before ex-div (to avoid paying the dividend - if you are short, you have to stump up the value of any dividend payment)

- what other news will be released before then

- will buybacks kick-in after the dividend, if the sp drops, thus making any drop short lived.

Timing is everything - let the shorters have full exposure before final results in March?

Then a massive short squeeze if the dividend policy is maintained and the accounts look as or better than expected?

As much as we would all like instant gratification with buybacks and sp rise now, If DEC can time buybacks at the lowest possible price, and at the time of maximum short exposure, this would be a better medium term result.

In the meantime, a 7-8% dividend at end of Feb to look forward too.

And it looks like there is new demand for shares

As usual, a great presentation, and it does all look very, very positive.

Nice to get some reasonably probing questions from funs managers too - obviously Scancell is beginning to be on the radar, which is probably the main point of this presentation.

Don't think it is - website not terribly clear, but that was the title of the previous aborted presentation, title showing today is:

I wholeheartedly agree with the conversation this morning.

I think (hope?) Scancell are confident enough to know a phase 3 will be required for scib1/iscib1+ and/or modi1, and the new management team has the foresight to begin the planning for this.

I think it more likely that a full or partial sale will take place, but to secure the best price they need to put in place a viable alternate plan.

Whether any of this will become transparent at the interims presentation I don't know, but think there will be hints at least.

Was thinking the same thing c18, maybe some new data and hopefully some investor guidance on inflection points, for example:

- roadmap to Nasdaq listing / phase 3

- news on avidimab or glymab, at least on progress of evaluations.

The reason the sp is not keeping its gains on news is that someone is selling into any rises, IMO.

I suspect Calculus, as they have prior form, and they likely need to finance exits from their funds due to the cost-of-living crisis and general apathy with the stock market.

They only have a finite number of shares, approx 34M or 3.67%, according to the Scancell website:

One decent piece of news, they could all go. And I doubt their target number of shares is zero anyway.

Great news for those on this treatment, but it does seem a lot more invasive in application than modi / scib, as it "comes in a bag of liquid administered through a thin plastic tube that remains running into a vein in the patient's arm for many months"

Newgrange, hilarious, you should host the oscars.

A placing at around this level wouldn't be a bad thing, it would put a solid line under the share price, remove the financial uncertainty and potentially raise enough to take the company through to profitability.

They are not going to leave it to the last minute to raise funds, wouldn't be surprised if we see a placing on the back of this rise? Or maybe they are expecting more good news and will place after that?

So vulpes didn't buy any more shares, but haven't sold any either.

RNS is there new percentage based on new shares in issue.

Bojo, not sure where you read the higher figure, but it probably includes the CLN, which if redeemed for shares will increase the shares in issue.

The difference is tiny - 28.95% Vs 28.97% previously, so they have, effectively, maintained their percentage (which can't go above 30% without triggering a takeover offer anyway).

Goof to know our largest shareholder, who also happen to be biotech experts, are still keen to invest more money.
