Point being that for an auction to go well above the quoted price is unusual and indicates at least 2 parties (MMs) bidding.

Quoted price 14.5/14.0 but a UT trade went through at 11.00 for 182,836 @ 14.5p.

UT = uncrossing trade, basically an auction as I understand it, so two or more MM's must be very keen on accumulating shares?

It is really strange the muted reaction to this mornings excellent news.

I guess the 'sell the news' investors are exiting today, and probably don't have a deep enough understanding of the product(s) here to get excited enough to stay.

Good news, especially when it requires the reader to join a few dots, can take a day or 2 to sink in. Lets see what the rest of the week holds...

I don't think dilution will necessarily be the route to iscib1+ phase 2/3.

There will be plenty of partnering options available, plus a full or partial sale of moditope might be on the cards.

If it is dilution, it would expect a LOT higher than 20p, especially if it involves a Nasdaq listing.

The sp should be higher than 20p now, but the market has only just started paying attention, and is playing catch-up.

Fascinating to watch how the MMs manage the situation, I suspected the small fall was a technique to encourage folk to relinquish their shares, as the volume of sells v buys didn't seem to warrant it.

The published spread is massive, which I have noticed often happens when there is very little stock available on either side - basically it's a measure of the MMs perceived risk of taking on a position if they don't have a known path to offloading the position.

Completely agree EE, Lindy is so modest and "proof driven" for want of a better phrase, yet she "thinks she's cracked it".

Combine that with the SP volume and price up-tick and it's all starting to look very exciting.

When results are extraordinary, people talk, very hard to keep a lid on friends, friends of friends etc.. and thus more folks taking a look.

Probably the truth is there are a few active buyers and at least one active seller.

Not sure if this has been talked about - but the seller could quite understandably be John Chiplin's estate.

I don't know, it seems the tide has turned, and someone is mopping up the sells rather than someone mopping up the buys. We shall see, there have been many false dawn's, so hard to get too excited.

I didn't realise you could buy Scancell on the OTC market (US), but apparently you can. And the sp went up 26% on Friday, equivalent to 12.75p.

Could see a jump tomorrow morning?

Jimbren, an investment co can't raise new many for investment and then use that money to redeem people selling out. The new funds would be ear-marked for investment.

The seller is probably Calculus, as discussed already a few times, and it's not really a reflection on Scancell - they simply need to eventually get cash somehow if clients are cashing in their funds.

They seem to be selling down to around 10p following any rise, and in a controlled fashion. So 10p or just under would seem a great entry point. It's impossible to know how many they have to sell without knowledge of their redemption rates, their strategy on redemption and the liquidity of the other holdings in their funds. We can hope that a new government who are saying all the right things will reassure investors and perhaps reduce redemptions?

When news comes on scib1 / iscib1+ efficacy, this will end one way or another - demand for shares will far exceed their supply and/or they will 'see the light' and stop selling.

No rumours needed, just scan through the RNS for the last 6-12 months and there is a lot of very positive stuff going on. One that I particularly like, that I feel went under the radar, is the recent ModiFY update from May. This is the quote from LD included int he RNS:

"We greatly appreciate the supportive and helpful discussions with the MHRA and are thrilled to have received approval to expand ModiFY into a cohort of patients who will now receive Modi-1 in combination with double checkpoint inhibitors. This approval marks another milestone for Scancell, and the promising efficacy, safety and tolerability study generated from earlier cohorts underscore our belief that our Modi-1 cancer vaccine has the potential to deliver a step change in the treatment of renal and other hard-to-treat cancers."

Was just explaining the project management triangle to a junior colleague - in essence, you can have 2 of the following 3 when delivering a project - quick, cheap and quality. You can't have all 3.

Scancell have definitely optimised for cheap and quality and ignored quick completely!

So my take is that Scancell/Redmile have removed any potential short-term complications to the funding that will be required for phase III.

This shows a massive confidence that phase III is nailed on - i.e. results will be excellent and there is no question about taking it forward.

This is not highlighting anything we don't already know. Lindy has openly talked about how to handle phase III. IMO, it's likely to be a partnership, full or partial buyout or Nasdaq listing + equity raise (at much higher price than today!)

The selling this morning is odd - looks like someone unloading their holding in several NMS trades. Maybe you're right C7 - someone read the RNS and panicked about financing?

Yep I agree RR, just thought terms like "promise" set unrealistic expectations, especially as delays are, at this stage, beyond the control of Scancell.

Would hope for an an update by end of Q3, even if the update is "we're only 90% recruited due to doctors strikes", or whatever.

I'm personally hoping for results that are quorate and will make suitors show their cards by the end of this year.
