I agree that the information is limited, but it is hard to see that the competitors would have reached the market if they could not pick up any of the positive samples at all in the original strain(s) even if it is AN swab.
Ndn71- Surely 'clinical study' means 'real samples' ? They cannot have done this with samples spiked with S1 (with delta mutations), they would have needed to have used the whole virus or those LFT's that detect N would not have worked (unless that is how AS got such great comparative results!).

Not true they recently stated that they were using the same affimers that they developed last year.

I think that all of the other main competitors LFT's target N. Poor readouts from the other two LFT's implies that there are changes to N in Delta which impact on sensitivity (N: D377Y??). It will be interesting to know how widespread the impact of this is on other mAbs used in competitors LFT's and ELISA's - it could potentially give Avacta a clear run whilst the other companies have to select and develop new mAbs to overcome the problem.

Whilst the ability to detect Delta/Kent/B.1.167.2 (to keep everyone one happy) is not a surprise after AS comments last week, the performance so far ahead of others for this variant certainly is .
The latest from Israel where 50% of adult cases infected with Delta had been double vaccinated for more than two weeks shows that testing will be going on for quite some time yet.
Finally, it looks like Avacta actually have both a test and a market, so for the first time in a year it is all looking genuinely quite exiting that we may soon see some serious revenues for the diagnostics (and I am not renowned for being rampy...)

I was invested from around the 300 mark. It was being heavily shorted and was bordering on being moved down from the FTSE 250. It drifted lower to around 250 but then it looked like it may just stay up and everyone was hoping for a short squeeze as it moved back up to 300.
All was looking good then they cxcked up their coupon on a bond launch such that they had to withdraw the offer, this triggered the price to plummet and the shorters had a field day. They subsequently re -launched the bond with a slightly higher coupon and it got away OK. I have often wondered where the price would be now if they had not got this wrong.
I got out around this time, so I will leave it to others to recount the fall below 200.

They were quite categoric in the presentation that they have enough credit to expand case numbers and that there would not be any dilution for existing holders.

It was in Portugal at the end of May so probably here now.

It will be interesting to see if, and by how much, RTO benefit from this.

There will constantly be new variants, these can potentially affect any LFT, at least Avacta can pivot to a new affimer far faster than other companies can raise new antibodies.

By now they know exactly where the affimers bind and which mutations would affect this, so if he says that he is confident they will still bind B.1.167.2 (delta), then this is going to be correct.

Totally agree Bermuda. I thought that there would be more of a jump on this release due to how significant it is.

They present the results with a quite conservative tone. However, buried in the going concern statement is ' In the current year to date the Group is trading ahead of budget and cash collections remain strong.'
As you say, things are set up for a good growth story going forward.

You need to add Alsa though, with the extra services in Morocco now running and the Portugal services to start it will not be all that much smaller than the US region.

I assumed that it was because the FTSE 250 was an easier performance target than the AIM 100!
I think it will be dictated by what happens with the IHT status of Aim companies.
If they went onto the main listing then they would be purchased by some funds and trackers but sold by others. I recall reading that there is a premium for companies that qualify for IHT relief on AIM so I am not sure it would necessarily be a positive thing if they did move to the main index.

I think this used to be a First Student contract so it is looking like the uncertainty there is benefitting NEX as predicted.
