It looks a new FedEx small truck, bigger than just a van. I ordered 3 day delivery but i got next day am. Very friendly guy, with fedex I can leave instructions what to do, deliver at 3pm for example, ring next door, or at next door , in garage etc. + tracking

I am just conveying my conversation with him earlier.....only thing you can accuse me is being nosy asking them so many questions

Just had a Fed delivery, my usual Fedex guy. He says he makes 40-42K per yr abd more around now till xmas. Self employed , sometimes finishes at 2-3! He laughs at RM, calls them crazy for striking, his pay will go to 50K for taking the extra work.

My sums agree but he claims that, his wife was in the vauxhall , liiks like v close geography, remember it is London. 1 square mile here has around 200+k population. I said v hard work, he said not too bad and he does work all day...sometimes till 4 or 6..but he chooses the jobs so he feels like self employed and happy with this job, who am i to disagree. Tracking parcels here generally, 500m has 8-19 deliveries.

He is considering only but others are doing it and just not doing deliveries at all, maybe passing to 5 others. He gets 99p per delivery, he is still cheaper than RM. I asked whether he was happy, he said yes,' i control my own delivery and get 'delivery jobs' daily. Tax...i did not ask

Keith, you are spot on with your comments, cheap delivery on small articles are still done by RM. Remember was 2 deliveries daily before. Larger are done by others mostly in my case when a decade ago 90% was done by RM. Talk to my last delivery man, he has more than he can handle using his own car. Some others get the jobs and 'subs' to a few others, taking a 20-25% margin. He was considering doing it. All in the gig economy. He said he made 34K last year. Delivery from online purchases have grown exponentially, all down to whether RM an keep their share.....I see this as being difficult.

London , @Mongolia :-) Most of it was 'junk mail' and some were banks offering credit cards. Now all the junk come as spam and 80% of my bills are online.

I for one, do not use Parcelforce anymore. The others does pickups etc for cheaper, the number letters i get are 1/10 from a decade ago. Although my parcel deliveries are up, the cheaper end still deliver by Royal Mail, their competitors have 80% of what gets delivered that requires signing for, from wines to laptops where Royal Mail had 90% a decade ago. That is the situation in my case.
