That turned out a spike caused by the good report.Several articles continually go on about the near record gap in valuations of gold miners vs eveything else like the main markets,gold itself etc.These dating back from a year ago onwards say when will this reverse ? OMI is one of the better ones which one day will zoom upwards with any re rating by the market but when ? Another I like and had before is KGI.Was 1293p in 2011 now 305.75p.Quite large company,based in safe Canada,good production but look where it is now.Another AVM has cut hedge issues I'd not rate that as high as KGI though,but again it had been 286.25p in 2011,now 19p.In any recovery of goldminers these two and others like OMI will be worth having.However the trick is not to dive in fearing missing the boat.Another later boat can be borded,rather than throwing in scarce cash now.GL.

there has to have been a massive force somewhere holding back the gold price for years which in turn limits,goldmining shares and perhaps most of the AIM miners which are interconnected through that.A report from Sprott (c) 21/3/13 might be the one pinpointing what it has been.Summarising-they estimate that the US has sold over the last 21 years between half and all of its gold reserves.China and India are buyers.This might be to hold interest rates low so as to pay off the huge debts with high inflation.Sprott says that if the US has really nearly hit the bottom they may not be able to hold it much longer..wording changed for (c) see "Massive Hidden US Gold sales by the Fed have kept the gold price down reveals Sprott study" 21/3/13.

I fail to see much anywhere on these boards about what we have been inflicted with for over two years- 1. incessant drops in SP's right across the AIM sector and beyond in some cases. 2. slight pauses which have given unecessary heart and caused overexposure even of new entry PI's. 3. averaging down has failed to keep pace unless amounts of cash inputted were massive. 4. these in turn were again overtaken by further falls. Without exaggereating it has been disastrous for how we feel and for our bank balances.The winners the MM's with their tactics of inviting us in then destroying us.Shorters have also operated against us very succesfully.Some companies even wanted SEDAs where shorting was used in co-operation.False hopes about projects and £metals in the ground" caused overoptimism and blindness to the reality of meltdown.Directors haven't been honest with shareholders.Too many PI's have grimly held on watching money erode.It seems impossible apart from x10 growth or more to get near recovering initial capital.Some threads here have descended into fighting like rats in a trap-not here. Your choices now. a. give up.Sell out.That will rescue some capital and though you've missed it this financial year you might tott up losses on your tax form to roll forward against future CGT gains.You can also then wait to re enter or go elsewhere or just stay in cash. b. average down.Personally I feel without knowing the bottom that is suicidal,in 2008 that led to many PI's going bankrupt.Of course many say I might miss the boat unless I do that,but you can get on a later boat more safely. c. do nothing.It is tempting,in fact you could do that with larger companies financially stable but if you are in AIM where dilutions are happening you'll soon be left high adrift at a very high average.I believe paper losses are real losses saying they aren't is a delusion.Duping yourself in fact.

Really nothing much being first with a 12% drop in there lol.AFF is down to the value of the cash pile they have,no value at all to their iron ore assets.RRR don't mention that disaster area where I wastedc 2 years and a lot of money.LRL meh.AIM now appears a fools paradise we were all in,will it recover one day ? Appreciate that in other AIM miners' cases-I've been in a few-it is a similar situation now.Where the mkt. cap. has fallen to the "expected value" of any assets.Of course in many of these cases that "expected value" will never be achieved because- 1. no-one will come in for them 2. these "assets" are just "in the ground" metal ores from exploration blocks held for x years.So the assumptions of investors in these companies are totally wrong.Remember AFF's assets are cash plus other assets not just assets.. How much of this applies to AFF ? Well not too much,as at the very least AFF will not be doing placings or taking large loans at the 15% compound interest so common now in these situations.Yes you might say case no.1 -what of that ? Well the Chinese might hope to get AFF at a knockdown price but AFF can last years on the cash pile.By such time many competitors will be out of business/taken over at the said knockdown prices and of course hopefully a recovery will come by then..again not nice this is but face facts.GL.

Can't believe that AFF is BELOW the cash pile value now! Why is AFF's cash not as valuable as anyone else's ? Sheer lunacy.

In the Scotsman it says CNE has dropped below the value of cash and assets now.

As you see from my 09.19 I'm by no means happy about AIM now at all,having sold quite a few at large losses to protect valuable capital,not even now a common practice as many appear to prefer averaging down or holding till doomsday everything.In my 09.09 I listed pluses amd minuses.It will depend on funding here of course.Having the big controlling local investor I feel might help a lot in that respect though yes with bank meltdowns it's hard.I can't in any case take much more loss so need to hold the remaining little and this will be one of those.Though elsewhere I hope I've reinvested what I salvaged from my dross AIM shares into solider,bigger things..GL.

I've stayed here though lost confidence in many other AIM shares.I know little but I think some plus factors here are- 1. proximity to China's poorest infertile agricultural areas. 2.adjacent rail with more coming,and posssible routes out west to Ukraine/Black Sea/Caspian. 3.important fact major shareholder is a "local" presumably well in with KZ govt. and now listed there too. 4.cheapish extraction costs from on/near surface. Minuses- 1. hard to raise capital in awful bank/AIM present scenario. 2. not sure about present debt/equity sand ecuritisation of these vs. assets GL mogo..

they had 694m shares so adding 400m shares would be a 7 to 11 dilution! Conclusion a major deal is required with new partners.However you can't float loans untill production is imminent,production against which you can secure these loans.

Yes I sense too they can't do any placing at these prices,it's too dilutive. Some examples-to raise say £4m the average placing for just 1 years' cash burn without any BFS or whatever which they did say they'd need within the next year -you need to sell 400,000,000 shares @1p.

Over at Market Oracle suggestions as to reasons for this which I regard as highly likely-the strength of the dollar forced commodity prices downwards.The majors were in difficulties already due to poor bank investment scenarios since 2008 the bank burst,so their profits were hit by lower metals prices and demand therefore and they lacked the finance to invest in poor AIM miners with resources no longer needed as projects scaled down.AFF again has the whip hand over most AIM miners who will/are being throttled by endless placings giving dilution and must end one day in bankruptcy of those therefore.So AFF need to go on surviving really and will longer term.Eventually the dollar iteself will blow up but that will not be pleasant..

Ren,bloo I think from reading that,most came from re examination of the lower bits of existing drill cores,info mayme missed earlier to find these sulphides ? Also again from a ref. the wording suggested AFE themselves suggested TZ should be looking into the accounts. This year in absence of a BFS which can't now be afforded,the placing would be too dilutive,in fact they have to get partners to get anywhere from now on,will till then just be ticking over.Shares in the cupboard in the cellar then ? Only me but I'd not consider averaging down.Of course that depends on your finances mine are shredded so I can't.
