Anyone who bought in at today's prices could be very glad they did.

At the rate it's climbing I reckon it could hit at least 50p by the end of September

Having said that, there were a few cups and handles on the rises of the recent head and shoulders, and there seems to be one forming now.

Share price charts are drawn by share trades. It means that they always tell you what has happened. The chart patterns serve as a guide to what could happen. They can't say exactly what will happen.

I agree. But it works. There are many thousands of investors who swear by charts. Books have been written about charting.

I just realised. I do have an example to show you. It's on the left hand side of the head and shoulders on the MET1 chart.

Sorry wako, but I don't. But, unless I'm mistaken, one could be forming on the MET1 chart. It can take days or weeks to fully form and no two cups and handle are identical. a cup could look like a shallow saucer, a soup bowl, a teacup or a champagne glass. The handle always forms afterwards, from the upper rim of the cup. It could go up at an angle or it might dip a bit before going up.

I should add. The shapes in the charts don't form by themselves. They are created by the actions of people buying and selling shares. The chart moves up when more people are buying more shares and the converse happens when more people are selling shares.

If people are tempted to buy because the share price is going up, I stand to gain because their buys will push the share price higher.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. I could be closer to doubling my money if the cup is completed.

I have a confession to make. It wasn't all blind luck, although I didn't expect to be quite as lucky as I was.

I'm a fan of the share price charts. Some of them anyway. Mainly common ones like the Head and Shoulders and the Cup and Handle. I was following the last six month charts for the MET1 share price movements. If you click on MET1 share charts above it will take you to the page. Expand the page for the last 6 months and you'll see a massive Head and Shoulders chart. It's very distinctive The head in the middle with the two shoulders either side. It'll help explain the recent volatility of the share prices. A head and shoulders is often followed by a sharp downturn. But that hasn't happened. Not yet.

The chart flattened out, forming a slight dip followed by an upward slope to the right. That was when I made my money, just now.

If the slope continues to rise and get steeper. I stand to make a whole lot more money. It's if it forms the cup of a cup and handle that it could get interesting, especially if a handle forms. A cup and handle is often a signal for a significant increase in the share price.

It might sound balderdash, but it isn't.

I'm also old. Old enough that my family are all waiting for me to pop my clogs.

I'm also old enough not to care too much about a tomorrow I might not see, or how much money I might leave behind me.

However, I'm still young enough for a gamble. Most of my portfolio is invested in safe companies. MET1 is my gamble. Within the last few days my investment in MET1 is up 41.88%. It's not bad for a company that is almost worthless. I'll watch it closely tomorrow with my finger on the sell button, but hoping I won't have to press it. I'll certainly sell my profit if I double my money, and leave the rest to see if it doubles again.

It would be nice if it repeated today's performance tomorrow, but it's unlikely it will. I'd be happy with fairly regular upward movements, even small ones.

Perhaps I'll get my wish.

Speaking only for myself, I'm an investor, not a trader, although I have been a trader in the past.

I currently have shares in MET1 because it looked interesting. It's an outlier in my portfolio that mainly consists of established companies that are profitable and pay dividends. I generally review my portfolio once or twice a year.

I looked at the investment case for MET1 closely before I decided to buy. I fully expect the shares to go up and down but I'll keep them as long as the investment case holds. At the moment it does.

LTI is a bit of a pest. He seems sincere but his reasoning is simplistic.

Given the effort LT puts into spouting nonsense, I doubt if he actually holds any share in anything. As you say, he never gets the bigger picture.

I've looked at CTL, dear boy. I'm not impressed. I've no opinion about the deal. I'm only interested in MET1's share price chart and MET1's trading prices and volumes. They tell me all I need to know. I'm not interested in anything else. I'll react when that story changes.

Forget Lithium. Few people know where that is going.

Focus your attention on MET1. Read the chart and read the trades. They tell the whole story. MET1 is currently on the way up and will continue to go up until it peaks. If you know when that will be you're the most brilliant man in the world. But everything you've posted on here so far tells me that you're not in any way brilliant. You're a tad lacking in knowledge perhaps, dumb even, but certainly not brilliant. Otherwise you wouldn't keep on repeating the same old garage.

I might put up a better case than you for not investing in MET1, but then I look at the chart and the trades and made my bet on the company. I'll sell when I think the time is right . It could be tomorrow or next week or even next year. I might never sell. I keep my options open. You, on the other hand, keep your options closed and you want everyone else to do the same.

Get a life and look after your own investments. If you have any?
