For me the key to affordability for early stage IPP is in the Tg requirement for Industrialisation and power export.

Quite clearly the TG needs power to reduce industry costs well above 24c/kwh. ther are more than a few mines out there that would be happy to pay such low high cost. The export of power for hard currency may well have the same reception where other states also have high costs of power due to use of diesel.

The next power use would be government with the citizen coming in last just in time for stieglers gorge cheap hydro....in about 15 years

Seems to me that the citizen who may well now be gainfully employed by miners whose power costs have come down, will decide what they can and cannot afford for domestic power.

That Minergy were able to undertake work in advance of the ML shows how proactive the gov of Bots is. Good news is that the comments from the Investors evening indicates that the Moz gov is also very proactive and pushing hard to get the work done.

Meanwhile the TG slumbers on.

MED managed to get one of the due diligence tests completed in advance, they too seem to be in a ''hurry''.

I am optimistic that Q1 this year, may have a lot to show before it is over.

The meeting was planned and organised as investors had been very vocal in wanting one. Now it is done, there is always one who will complain that it has been delivered, on time as advised!!

As for attendees you have made a huge assumption, baseless by nature, that they all flew in for this one event.

Timescales for MCPP have been a let down. The let down has come from the TG who have agreed the time plans then failed to deliver.

I believe LC and others have taken MCPP as far as they can, it is now down to the TG to deliver on time scales.

The other projects are relatively new so it is a bit harsh to demand the heads of the BODs for an early stage additional portfolio. Perhaps by year end 2019 it would be a good time to review BIPP, MCIPP and MED for their progress.

I suspect the end of March deadline was for a good reason or two. Just a shame they did not volunteer this up front.

IF Benga gets a PPA over the line and KIBO get progressed to Phase 2 for MCPP then I be surprised if SEPCO due diligence does not reflect this.

the first time you posted 2021 was stating that the Botswana gov would in effect give kibo a green light then, as opposed to being in line with FE indications. I did ask why you knew that to be such a certainty, you never responded. I would be grateful please if you would share what appears to be certain knowledge on your part re Botswana

JD we were hoping for decent priced funding from SEPCO, that may not now happen. The need has not gone away, just a question of how it will be done.

LC cannot afford to wait until end of March for SEPCO, yet may not have to move too soon either.

STEAG involvement as reviewing PFS is a simple service contract rather than a ''Partner'' Could open up more for them if they find the PFS compelling

1/ Did LC indicate if the new minister is going to bring the recommended SML papers to cabinet in February

2/ Indicative date for when Phase 1 is completed? We do not know if we have a shout for Phase 2.

The plan allows a max depth of 12,000ft

Dw built in the finances for flow testing so I would expect he will want as much bang for the buck he can get. I suspect they will drill the whole planned depth as it is fully funded and there are no drill savings by coming up short.

Sonic, none of us know what the present financial position is. Size of placing will as usual be determined by cash needs and what if any Financial partners come to the party and for what amount.

STEAG as a new partner is not mere window dressing.

Pauly, we all expected a fund raise , just were looking to SEPCO. That is not happening.

I also suspect that new partners STEAG may have a part to play in place of SEPCO. They have just completed a 300mw CCP in my neck of the woods on a BOT basis.

We may get a bit of both, a small placing for now, and financing for a little later, but for a lot more value

DRAX there is nothing more LC can do for MCPP this is now entirely in the hands of the TG no matter how much has been spent. I am not sure that there are any more direct costs for MCPP as the staff will be working on other projects
