weighing up the facts that we know I think Sharesting is right on the Hong Kong trials, I listened to the audio recording with Dr Heung, and he strongly intimated it was Interferon that was the difference, afterall the control arm contained the other two drugs only, and the group with the better results by far was the same two drugs as the control group combined with the intereferon!. Thus the Interferon has to be the substantial difference. Their is no other conclusion to draw from that. Unless you can explain it to me?

Link have had a fair few opportunities to sell recently and they haven't. Maybe that should be taken as a positive rather than worrying about something you have no control over. If the trial results are good Link, Lansdowne, Licht won't matter it will only go one way as the demand will be huge.

It makes sense to me that they will cover their capital investment and let the rest ride as the upside is far greater than the downside here. Whether that be 10% or 9% i don't honestly know. Would anyone know what they originally got their core holding for?. When you look at the overall picture here Lansdowne have leaked so much money that it wouldnt be worth their while selling out completely to recoup an amount that wouldnt even begin to make a dent in what they have lost.

Let them dump it who cares? Company, the drug and the staff haven't changed. Lansdowne were under pressure to sell because of the trading year they've had. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Will suppress the SP for sure, at least for a while and then it will be fine.

Stand out for me was that INF Beta 1a (which SNG use) is ‘10 times more immunogenic than 1b’.

With the Hong Kong trial shedding more positive news on the use of interferons I wanted to know more about the differences between INF Beta 1b and 1a. Following contains a comparison table which is well worth a look:

Synairgen is now close to completing a Phase II study in chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD) patients with confirmed respiratory viral infections and pre-existing

significant impairment of lung function. With 109 out of a target 120 participants already

dosed, this trial has been paused to minimise the chance of vulnerable patients being

exposed to further infection risk and to minimise distraction for respiratory staff in the

UK hospitals and GP sites conducting the trial, who will be at the forefront in dealing

with patients suffering from COVID-19.

From the New York Times article:
‘The authors plan to conduct a larger trial to examine the effectiveness of the ****tail in critically ill Covid-19 patients, and they may also evaluate the effectiveness of interferon alone.’

Erm? Helllooooo. SNG are well ahead on this curve. And we have an inhaled version which, fingers crossed, will prove a lot more effective than injected Interferon Beta.

I think the PR and media attention was a really good thing last week. It enables the sellers to cash out as it were. The II’s have their reasons to sell, lock in profits and react to the needs of their investors. Lansdowne have apparently had a poor couple of years, they went short on the UK economy recovering post brexit and clearly got unlucky with the virus hitting. So overall market takes a big hit and compounded with that position that went wrong they need to pull some money back where they can. It doesn’t reflect on SNG’s chances, just makes it a cheaper buy in for potential investors. Has suppressed the SP though and combined with the placement shares which predictably were going to be flipped the SP hasn’t done too badly. That is largely because of the positive media coverage. The placement was a double edged sword. They needed the funds for the trials etc but it did bring 40 million shares back onto the market. With Lansdowne also reducing their ‘core’ holding and I fully expect another TR1 early next week, the selling should hopefully stop soon. Be interesting to see if on the next spike the SP is heavily sold into. My suspicion is that the share price may start to edge up soon providing Link hold their ground.

Interesting read. Noted part of the recommendation at the end of the Hong Kong study using as part of the treatment INF Beta 1b.

‘ A subsequent phase 3 trial with interferon beta-1b as a backbone treatment with a placebo control group should be considered, because subgroup comparison suggested that interferon beta-1b appears to be a key component of our combination treatment.’

Interferon beta 1a

It does make me laugh that some seem to have made their minds up that SNG001 doesn’t work in latter stage diagnosis. Absolutely no evidence to suggest it won’t. No less than any other drug anyway. SNG have always planned to get the drug into patients as quickly as they can post diagnosis. As someone said earlier the hospital dosing is as much to test tolerance to SNG001 with patients who have the virus. If it wasn’t well tolerated it wouldn’t have been rolled out to the home environment. One step leads to another. Looking forward to next week and clearing the seller hopefully.

I don’t believe anyone has any clue about costing of this product. I don’t think the figures bandied about are remotely accurate. The Chinese and Cubans don’t seem to have had a problem scaling up production of interferons. Plus CEO was talking about getting a million doses ready very quickly , which would be silly if it was so expensive to produce. Synairgen wouldn’t have the money to back that so why would they have spent 12 years developing a product which was too expensive to produce. I don’t believe they would. As I say they are three or four steps ahead of all of us.

Probably home trial development and being choosy with patients maybe to get the best trial data. Data being ‘king’ in CEO’s own words. Plus ‘going backwards’ not really accurate, these trials and testing would normally take years!. Still being achieved in super quick turnaround, but properly.
