If these SI trades relate to trading activity taking place in a dark pool then that is indeed interesting. Dark pools allow buyers (and sellers) to remain anonymous and dark pool trades are hidden from the public (unlike on LSE for example where the orderbook is visible). This allows positions to be built or reduced whilst minimising the effect of the buying or selling on the SP. Dark pools are typically used by institutional investors, hedge funds etc. who want to buy or sell large amounts of shares.
