CrustyPete - the initial payment isn't meant to cover anything (Scancell can do whatever they want wit the money). It is a payment from Genmab to Scancell for allowing Genmab to develop and market products based on the Scancell glycan in question. All development costs will be paid by Genmab.

I got the strong impression that Scancell were surprised by the very high Disease Control Rate of 84%. This is a very impressive number indeed (a view that I know LD shares) and is what I think the focus should really be on as this will be the primary end point for the phase 2/3. I suspect that DCR is what the company will now by shouting about to the wider pharma community. If the Progression Free Survival also produces a strong number (which we should expect given the earlier monotherapy trial outcome) then this will be a very powerful result indeed.

By rights, based on the quality of these results, the SP really should have gone up strongly today - these results wipe the floor with existing treatments. So why didn't the SP go up ? IMO this was because of combination of the following.

1. Somebody is still dumping large blocks of shares - Calculus ? Who knows. Held the price back.

2. Punters incorrectly took the lack of a rise as a signal that the result weren't all that great and either sold or didn't buy.

3. The market doesn't understand how good these results really are. Needs time to sink in.

4. The ORR fell short of the earlier 85% and this was taken as a negative despite the fact that the ORR achieved is 50% better than the current best (72% vs. 48%) and passed the 70% target.

Bottom line is that these shares are fantastic value at the current price with SCIB1 now further de-risked and showing massive potential (and surely of interest to a partner). The snippets of new info on Modi1 shared in the interview were also very positive, particularly the H&N CPI cohort having passed Simeon stage 1 after only 9 weeks.

I believe that once the market has digested today's news we will see the SP move north steadily.

Cheste18 - by end may next year we should have 33 iSCIB1+ patients with their 25 week scan so SCLP will know by that point whether iSCIB1+ is materially outperforming SCIB1. I would hope we get an interim readout on iSCIB1+ around that time or a little earlier.

Given we'll have at least 33 patients in cohort 3 at 25 weeks by end May I would hope that we get an update on iSCIB1 in H1 (given that for cohort 1 we have just had an update for 25 patients at 25 weeks).

Bermudashorts - I should have added that I have returned to normal functioning, the residual impacts are perfectly manageable.

Given the buying last week, the fact that we are now into territory where a SCOPE update could come at any time, and the arrival of the new CEO, this could be a very interesting week. I'm feeling quite excited.

Thanks Bermudashorts, and thanks for the info on the vaccine/autism linkage studies. I had my children vaccinated and would still choose to do so as the risks of not being vaccinated are too high IMO.

I always considered the theory that vaccines caused autism to be nonsense. That was at least until my experience with the AZ Covid Vaccine. That vaccine kept me off work for 7 months and I am still suffering the consequences.

One of the big impact’s of the vaccine was on ay autonomic / sympathetic nervous system which controls many aspects of the body’s operation. Amongst the many problems it created for me was significant sensitivity to sound and light, and significantly increased anxiety and related emotional impacts. Given this, I can see how a small child suffering similar impacts would exhibit autistic behaviours so I’m not so sure not that there isn’t a link between vaccines and autism.

Whether the overall benefits of the childhood vaccines outweighs the overall impact of such side effects is a different matter. Clearly the calculations around cancer vaccines are very different to those for childhood vaccines as it is a choice between the vaccine and death !

Burble your post addresses the expedited approach regarding a large scale production of the vaccine but does not address the trials point. Whilst I don't have a major axe to grind either way, the trials element does seem to have been much shorter that would have been ideal. I can understand why this was, but not something I am entirely comfortable with.

When LD said that upfront would be similar to the Genmab deal that was when Scancell were going to do SC134 in-house. SC134 may well be worth more than the other mAb's but whether it is worth $100m up-front we shall see.

I don't think it was a transfer between funds as this wouldn't have impacted the bid. As the bid moved 0.75p I suspect that the trade, however it was executed, has left the mm's needing some stock.

Just posted. Price paid has been stated incorrectly at £13.75 rather then 13.75p.

That is a typical click-bait article with extremely weak analysis - it assumes that the only way of getting cash is fundraising and dilution which, as we all know, is nonsense. Deals, partnerships etc. what about those Mr. Fool (or perhaps your name says it all) ?
