I obviously don’t know much about it, but legal cases are against people or companies, not assets

Just to address a couple of legal points:
- buying the asset from Platina doesn’t have to mean inheriting the legal dispute, even if it is still going on
- even if Platina were correct that Artemis weren’t allowed to sell to Empire, it doesn’t follow that there’s any similar issue with Platina selling to us

Seems a good move to me. And certainly indicates that the board are feeling very confident about EH and Munni Munni North

The company tweeted recently that they are targeting close on the peakers this year, which is consistent with what they have been saying for a good while. I see no reason at all to suspect that anything is wrong

It seems an absolute no-brained that someone should design a drill casing made out of something other than metal, so that holes can be kept open without blocking TDEM. I would have thought that would be a very easy bit of engineering

My view on the next drill is:

- if we don’t hit massive sulphides, I lose £x on a short term basis only, until people remember that the KSZ campaign has still gone really well and that Ditau and the KCB look really good
- if we do hit massive sulphides, I gain who knows what multiple of £x

It’s very lopsided in my view

Fair enough Ella, it was definitely a Karoo target initially but I guess they’ll take it either way! Must be hard to be sure of the geological origin of something hundreds of metres down I suppose. We will find out soon

I agree they prob won’t drill C at the moment. However, if the long winch DHEM at A2 were to reveal a clear target I wonder whether they could be tempted to put one more hole into area A…

I also keep thinking back to an interview Ben did after hole 2 where he was talking about meetings they’d already had with majors and he was saying that the majors were very impressed with the geology and the analysis but were saying “come back when you’ve got some interesting rocks to show us”. And Ben said, referring to hole 2, “we think we’ve now got those rocks”. In other words, confident of progress with majors based just on hole 2

Thanks Keith, agree with your comments. I am someone who exhibited some of the behaviour you describe in the past (I sold after drill 1, albeit quickly changed my mind and bought again). However, I have since come to understand the company and projects better, have bought a lot more, and will just hold now. The company is well run with great comms and incredible upside. Not worth piddling about trading in my view

Ella, an interesting observation which has prompted me to look into TDEM a bit more. All quite hard to follow as a non-geophysicist. From what I can tell, TDEM is primarily used to measure conductivity rather than conductance. I also think that the relationship between the two is such that (to take an example) if a two-meter long wire has a conductance of 8000 Siemens, the wire material has a conductivity of 16000 Siemens/m (not 4000 as one might guess). I think that because the effect of adding more material through which the current has to travel is to reduce conduction (increase resistance).
Not certain on either point though, and my main conclusion is that I’m glad that Kavango has recruited such an amazing team of experts and partnered with Spectral!

Wolf - I think it’s more that the specific success the company is aiming for is to attract a deal with a major, which would be next year.

Ella - usual caveat that not a geo, but my understanding is that the reference to metres arises from the fact that conductance is current over voltage and needs to be measured relative to a fixed (horizontal in this case) distance. So “no”!

I think they feel that hole 2 was good enough that drilling C is not necessary from a proof of concept perspective. Also they’re keen to get on with Ditau

Also not a geologist but my interpretation is that we have a large area of Proterozoic magnetite which is causing a magnetic signature, plus a smaller (still quite large) area of Karoo *something* (massive sulphides?) which is creating both a magnetic signature and an EM signature. The two mag signatures would presumably merge together?

Yes, but that’s the magnetic anomaly, not the EM anomaly. It seems very possible that the magnetic signature is from a combination of Proterozoic and Karoo but that the 8200 EM reading is just Karoo?

A few people asking below whether the magnetite in the geological hole implies that the 8200S anomaly that we are drilling next is likely to be just magnetite. I don’t think so, for two reasons. First, as Keith has pointed out, the magnetite we just pulled up was Proterozoic whereas the next hole is targeting Karoo, so there’s no reason to expect any similarity of result. Second, I don’t think magnetite is anywhere near conductive enough to explain an 8200S reading. It is worth looking back at the table which Kavango tweeted in the summer:

This suggests magnetite would likely show a conductivity in the region of 10-100S. Our target is 8200.
