The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
TipTop..... PMJH will probably know the answer to this. Synairgen's patent covers Inhaled Interferon Beta 1a, but I don't think it covers 1b. I could be wrong though.
I remember that in France four patients in ICU were treated with Inhaled Interferon Beta 1b... and they all recovered.

If you go to this chart you can get any information you need, total cases, deaths per 1m population. I think Belgium's always been the highest.... we were about 25, but since the new UK strain and last wave we are right up there now in the top 10.
I do think each country counts their cases differently though.
I believe Ghia wrote some great info on Betterlife, and there was a biologist on here, some months ago (it has been discussed a few times in the last year) who I recall wrote something along the lines of 'most Biologists would laugh the CEO and his claims out of the room'..... it is also a LONG way behind Synairgen, who deliberately chose Beta over Alpha at the start, I believe based on Beta being many multiples more effective and less side effects..... but I am not a biologist, am merely repeating, so if there is one on the board they may want to confirm/deny this.
Dent63 - This has been a rollercoaster ride for a lot of us here..... on Manic Monday I made enough money to pay off my mortgage, and then a month later found myself in the red. People told me to sell half, but I thought I knew better!!
My average is lower than yours so I'm ok now, but I did feel very sick for a while.... I will certainly think of you when it hits £4.40! Best of Luck.
Hi Fruitsnveg.... no event this morning.... IMO just rising in anticipation of news within the next week re inclusion in Activ 2 Trial..... amongst other things. I would recommend that you read through REDDIT and all of PMJH posts on this BB so you can make your own decision though.
pmjh..... I have been wondering what the pill is that is due to be trialled in the Active 2 along with Synairgen.... would it be Opaganib by Redhill?
TornadoTony.... so impressed with your predictions... so helpful, thank you.
Gold5.... I think a big pharma may well look at converting this back from a nebuliser into an asthma style inhaler. Ventolin is an amazing drug....but problem is many asthma sufferers misuse their inhalers/not taught how to use them properly..... not inhaling at the right time, instead of inhaling just before pressing the canister, and holding their breath afterwards for 10 seconds so the drug gets absorbed in through their cheek cells.
The asthma spacer (or in this case nebuliser) is idiot proof.... as it removes all of these issues of misuse, which is great, as we want the trials to be as successful as possible! I suspect that's why RM chose this more expensive method of delivery.... especially considering the Home Trial.
pjmcgra..... I think the board has more than covered this...Phase 3 trials were due to start Q4, they started late.... reason given was the work involved, bringing it from a Phase 3 with 900 to 600 patients, was the cause of the delay.... but would also reducing the length of the trial..... obvi.
I don't recall RM ever saying the trial or results would be with us by end of January... In fact I recall him specifically saying that he would not give a date for results, and still hasn't.
matt.... quite right... I also gave him some grief, even set up a twitter account to do it.... but to give him credit he did respond. I used to work at the house of commons... strange place, it's like an extension of a boys boarding school.... with bells going off all the time, for when you should have a cup of tea, or eat. It's a totally reactive, rather than proactive establishment.
Superritch.... quiet right... he tried to lie his way out of it, instead of coming clean.... probably would've kept his job and support of many if he had. Good lesson for him... and probably worth following again now he's learnt it.
Garethin.... any private health care system would be keen to avoid the expense of hospitalisation.
I had to get a quick private emergency op for my daughter last year... the operation was hundreds, but due to complications she had to stay overnight.... that was over £3000!
