Parsley... that was actually quite funny!
I used to own a golf company, specialising in sending brits to Italy... really set it up as an excuse to 'check out' some amazing hotels and courses.... must've played most of them in the end, all around the lakes, and Sardinia.... my favourite was one right in the centre of the island, but quite hot.
Golf in Italy very relaxed and undiscovered...... and more female friendly.... the ladies tee actually has some wear on it... unlike Spain where they are completely untouched!
bobminor..... I confess to only looking briefly over this, and so I don't know if it's been tested on a human yet has it?
If not, then it is years behind, by which time Synairgen will belong to someone else, and we will all be out.
Livelif.... sadly I believe reinfection is going under reported, having also personally known a 20 year boy who had it twice, 6 months apart. Of course reinfection is less, mathematically it has to be.... if 10% catch it from someone once, then 10% of that 10% would be unfortunate enough to catch it again.... but thats not the point... the point is that this indicates that antibodies probably only last 6 months.... which means vaccination will need to be yearly, just like flu.... and we will never be rid of this.
A friends son, aged 20, has just been diagnosed with Covid, for a second time, first infection was 6 months ago.... the general scientific view is that antibodies are stronger with a real infection than will be with a vaccine... so that may give us a good indication of what is to come, and how long antibodies last before being vulnerable again.
I am a big fan of Vaccines, but we really need treatments too... in fact we desperately need both.
Shan.... absolutely I agree... and what PMJH has been telling us for months.
But it's the stockpiling opportunity that is mind-blowing here..... once Phase III proves as effective...... and for so many countries, not only that, but the profits of the stockpiling orders will be undiluted by a Big Pharma taking the lions share.
Richard is so on this.
Amers..... there is mounting evidence this works as a prophylactic, and there is also a large window that you can take this once testing positive, but as Sirswish says, the earlier the better to stop the virus spreading. It has not been tested in very late stage/icu patients yet.
Tiger.... I personally don't think AZN vaccine being approved will do much to the SP, but I do think people think it will, which is why this isn't over £2 yet. As soon as this news is out of the way and first dosing RNS out, this will be £3 plus IMO.
With regards to the success percentages of Phase III trials, can I suggest you read Wedme's post on Reddit.... it explains what the main reasons are that some Phase III trials fail.
Mostly due to lack of funds, safety issues, and badly set up trials. Which is why he/she believed that Synairgen had a 90% chance of Phase III success as INF Beta has been proved safe in decades of use with MS sufferers, and we are also fully funded. I think we can assume that RM has been fastidious in his setting up of this phase III.... not to mention that we are in the middle of an epidemic and we need this drug now.
The chances of this Phase III being a success, I would say, are as good as is gets.
Long covid can hit both those who were mildly or severely effected.
A family friends 24 year old son had covid very mildly in April, recovered, and then three months later has long covid, and very severely.... liver failure, colostomy bag, and now possible lung failure too.
Mr Big.... someone else will have a more technical explanation... but in layman's terms, I think Operation Warp Speed is the marketing term Trump used for fast tracking all of the hopeful drugs and trials that come underneath this heading.... ACTIVE 2 being one of the trials, and one which we know Synairgen is on. A bit like a holding company with little companies underneath it... all being fast tracked... make sense?!
Mr Big.... I'm no scientist, and I think the general feeling in that world is that you maybe right.... infact RM was very surprised too that SNG worked on some very ill people in the Phase II, he was not expecting it. Also, in France, 4 patients all in ICU were given Interferon, I believe either through nose or inhaled, and all 4 recovered..... far from conclusive... but I can see why they would want to investigate further.
Hold... I use HL... you can use your funds straight away after selling to buy another stock, but it has to settle if you want to withdraw it in cash.
I know HL is more expensive, but they have saved me a lot of money in advice on tax, and also are very helpful on the phone. Good service, IMO, is worth paying for.
