Westek seems to be a purchase to stiffen up the Technology and Engineering business in place of the Shaw Sheet Metal company. The two directors are staying to complete present work and to further the future prospects of the group by providing a "Wingman" effect in customers and prospects. The company is based in Wiltshire, not too far from Portsmouth and Fareham. I can visulise some in-house conferences taking place at Head Office or Fareham on joint approaches to MOD and other essential customers. What do you think ? --- Yours, Max.

Perhaps you have missed some recent reports but CFQDs are said to be non-toxic which is a great relief, if they can be used, as you say, to fight cancer. One of the methods being urgently looked at is using CFQDs as a "Carrier" to transport medication into the actual cancerous cell and neutralise it. A recent external report discussed the necessity of being able to pass through extremely small, tight passage ways which guard the brain cell from intrusion. Mindset still in 70s and 80s ?? i can point to 40s and on including Royal Air force in tha t decade. It is still within your experience and will help guide you in present days. I moved to St Helens College in 1966 and a room in the Mechanical Enginnering workshops was named for Renishaw. I think the Principal Lecturer in M.E. had got them on board since we had a great DSG Centre Lathe installed next door. For colleges to acquire new machines was some times a struggle. I was asked by the Head of Department M.E. to "Spend £8.000 on new equipment " for a heavy fabication shop. Thsi meant many visits to potential suppliers after a lot of studying of requirements for students education and possible extension to new premises eventually. I still had my normal teaching duties to perform but was pleased to have been chosen for this task. The move to new premises did occur but I retired before it was opened. Firms do not have "To Meet Them". They usually contain so many ifs and buts and seem to be an attempt to try to show what their future aspirations maybe. You then said "Nanoco haven't met them and that is why the SP tanked"
It therefore seems to me that neither Nanoco or ANY other firm can meet future possibilities, with any assurance. If they could then it would be easy for investors to follow and make piles of money. ---- Yours, Max.

Sorry, my mistake, thanks for pointing that out. Alberta would possibly be ideal for illustrating good forestry management, working with the Metis people to enhance the climate and at the same time reduce the risk of forest fires by removing the very dry flammable material from the forest floor. If tarriffs are not imposed then Coalswitch could be exported into the USA. Like wise for Peatswitch working with the Market Garden suppliers in California.

I should think that all the Ministers of the provincial goverment have been involved in the general discussions in their cabinet. They appear to have been given plenty of time to consider the pros and cons of the proposals from AEG. On a strict base of the quality of the Coalswitch and Peatswitch inventions, these were in existence before NFL was appraoched. If the Governor and his cabinet turn down the proposals, then AEG must look at some of the other appraches they have made. UTAH with Young Farmers, Alberta with the possibility of acquiring vast forests there, as Dr Maccers has pointed out, and more recently the State of Geogia. ---- Yours, Max.

What a lovely place to live, my family and I were picknicking in the Dukeries when a message on our portable radio said Sir John Barbirolli had passed away. My wife and I had been present at many of his concerts at the Free Trade Hall in manchester, built on the ground of the Peterloo Massacre. There was a srory told that A.V Alexander a Labour member of Churchill's Cabinet during the war told the PM that this famous conductor, based in New York, wished to return to Manchester. Companies do as you say, provide Forward Looking Statements, but in every one I have read on various boards, they Explicitly state that they can NOT guarantee to meet all or any of the possible objectives laid out and, indeed, go to great lengths to explain the meaning of all the words which might seem to be positive axctions, so that no one with decent English Language will misconstrue what is said in the statement. ---- Yours, Max.

With regard to wind turbines, is it possible to show or just simply explain when the turbine is moving at its most efficient rateand at what wind speed might this be ?? You mntion shutting down a turbine during high winds, does this happen often ? Is there no braking system to control turbine rate in high winds ? Is that not feasable ? Shutting down turbines because the grid does not want the output seems to show there are, perhaps, too many turbines. Mr Daniels has certainly done a remarkable amount of investigation in developing his invention. coupled with a significant amount of "Literature Reading". I was suprised at the high temperatures involved in production along with the shaking required. This application has yet to be granted ?? Another report said it was far more than just AMAZ and Alpha, it got quite complicated but it talked about
"Extended Trading" which, although it must be legal, seems to rubbish having official closing times. There doesn't seem to be official index lists of companies available for ordinary folk to see. ---- Yours, Max.

I found the report:-- Investopedia said that Dow finished in the BLUE, ---- BUT both Amazon and Alphabet issued interims after hours and MISSED the estimates of the independent analysts and the result was that both shares suffered large drops which pushed the Dow into the RED. I saw a report that although DOw Jones finished up at the end of normal trading hours, further trading took place which saw Dow Joners slip into the red. If that is true then why is it not illegal ??
