That's true, except I think this has been a dump and pump. Much of the buying now is shorts closing positions as stop-losses are triggered. They will probably me moving onto the next great short, so unlikely to be dumping anytime soon. We'll see.

GS - you can't play transformative stocks like this on the charts for the long term. the Company is completely different now form 1, 3, 5, or 10 years ago, so TA doesn't really work. Task - when I say relatively cheap, I mean that there are US biotech stocks with poorer pipelines , worse management, and $10bn market caps. Clln - I'm pretty much back to my average in-price now, but torn as to whether I should just exit, or hold on for a bit of profit!!

Yes, I also invested into CMCX, but sold out there after a 35% gain. I think this stock should be a nice returner over the rest of the year. I'd be interested to know whether some of the doubters (GumT/Diggedy) when it was below £5 have now changed their view, though I expect we probably won't hear from them again....;-))

...but aside from the (quite small) disposals, more in the way of positive talk rather than positive action and evidence on the financials therein. I'm going to stay invested here as I continue to believe that the market opportunity longer term is so good, that even a poor management can't completely screw it up. Whilst the new management talk a good game (as the last lot did) we will need to see further evidence through the rest of the year that we are back in an uptrend. A bid in the next 12 months is also a strong possibility IMO. GLA

Agreed - number that particularly got my focus was new users up by 38% which bodes very well for revenue growth in the future. Once the significant investment programme begins to wind down, we can expect EPS to grow strongly. FCA remains a risk, but well discounted in the price I think. I'm targeting £7 before the end of the year. GLA

Yes, you're right, we haven't heard from Optimus in a bit either!! Where are you mate? You want a (relatively)cheap biotech stock with some excellent prospects, look at HCM. Not as cheap as it was for sure, but a rather unique portfolio of compounds in late stage trials. Some very well informed posters on the BB as well.

Sorry, but you're missing the point. No-one has said that this is not a growth market, or that technology hasn't revolutionized the world. This is an AVN board, and the issue at hand is whether AVN can survive it's debt mountain long enough to participate in the longer-term growth of the industry. If you believe it will, then the stock's a massive buy with lot's of upside. If you don't, then the shares are worthless. That's not trolling or de-ramping, it's reality. You pay your money, and you take your choice.

Surprised to see you pick up your tent and leave so early...;-). for me, this is fundamentally undervalued, and whilst I feel confident it will rise, I don't know when, so for me, I'm staying till the market realises I was right all along.....:-)) I won't be selling below £7 unless something fundamental changes to the detriment of my thesis.

Power - Vodafone survived, but notable that it's share price is still one-quarter of its all time high back in 1999. I think one could rightly ask whether they have ever truly recovered from that license spend! Avanti situation is different though in that they have to win contracts rather than simply wait for the revenue to flow in. They will win contracts as well, but will they win enough , quickly enough...?

...and we're back to 60p. Clearly the results and ensuing webinar have done nothing to please investors. Are we talking about a Company with some nice assets here, but a management that's clueless on how to extract value? I took a decent chunk of money out after the results which were lackluster in my view, but still have a holding which I'll hold onto at these levels and hope that the large institutional investors will shake up the management!

The most immediate question for AVN shareholders isn't whether this is a growth market, or whether it will be significantly larger in 10 years time, it's whether they can generate sufficient cash flow to pay interest and start to pay down principal in the next 12-18 months.

taskmaster - Hot's wife was poorly, and then in a more recent post he implied that he might be having a few health issues. For a poster as prodigious as the hotster to suddenly disappear, I can only think that these issues are not inconsequential, and he's focusing on life's important stuff. However, if you think you can prove it, be my guest. Alternatively, why don't you do us all a favour and just filter me? I'm guessing because you didn't know that functionality existed right? Well, have this one on me.

I love the fact people think the loan holders are geniuses and all must be rosy in the garden if the lenders continue to lend. This is a fallacy. Firstly, would the lenders have lent Avanti so much money on the first place if they knew then what they know now? I'd say no - so much for their predictive ability. So why lend now? 2 reasons: Ever heard the phrase 'in for a penny, in for a pound'? That's what is at play here now. Having piled so much money into Avanti, they may as well put a bit more in to keep the Company going and pray that it can earn its way out of trouble. The fact that they reduced the interest rate is not a positive folks - it's because the Company would have folded if they hadn't done it I'm afraid. The second reason is, that at least in default, they have the assets and should be able to recoup maybe 50% of their money. This isn't true for the shareholders though - there will be nothing left over for default. So AVN is now a casino stock - Big upside if they can actually generate the cash to start paying down the debt (as well as the interest) but worth zero if they can't. It's really that simple IMO.
