Davey - yes, there's a problem somewhere on this stock and about 6 or 7 other small and midcap stocks that I follow, whereby they haven't updated prices since 16 June. I thought this was a google finance issue but it looks like it is more widespread. I wonder what's going on?

Been buying today at 191p today. Consensus this year is 35p per share, but statements from the Company talking about a 'Material' improvement make me think this is conservative. Either way, this still puts it on 5.4x this year's earnings with all the court cases behind them.. Even if next year is 'more challenging', and eps falls back to 30p (which I don't think it will) 6x 2018 earnings still represents good value for this excellent well-managed Company. My target for year end is £3, and I think the interims later in the summer will start this process for real. GLA

What makes you so sure about a special dividend? Seems an odd thing to do at the same time as making a massive acquisition! have they stated they'll consider paying one?

hottrader - not necessarily - I think this has been pretty much discounted by the market already. Question now is whether the price is better or worse than the market expects.

Stock on 40x last years' earnings. That looks stretched to me ex a takeover bid. I don't tend to manage my portfolio based on predicting takeovers, so I've taken about 40% of my holding out at £3.01. Still have a decent chunk left if things keep on going, but can definitely find better value elsewhere now.

They'll need to get a good price for it. It enjoys and operating margin of 20% versus 12% for the Group as a whole - 10% of sales but 17% of op. profit. So whilst the balance sheet will look better, the operating fundamentals of the Company will, initially at least, look worse. We'll see.

Difficult to work out how anything they are working on now could affect 2017 guidance (as opposed to 2020/21 or beyond.)? Intriguing though. In my experience, stocks will tend to overshoot fundamentals on the up side, then do the same on the downside shortly after. It doesn't always work, but more often than not, there's money to be made around this phenomenon. I was fortunate to do so in 2015/16, and another sharp leg up to £40 here in the short-term would present another opportunity in my view. We'll see...
