Brad - I think the point here is that whilst you have to rely heavily on other people's views when investing, this still doesn't change the fact that individual investors like you and me don't move stock prices by and large. Perhaps the reason that 'trolls' keep repeating the debt issue because it is critically relevant, and truer today than it has ever been. Finally, can I dissuade you of a complete piece of fiction in your, post that somehow the negative posters here far outweigh the positive - just rubbish I can give you 5 positive posters for every negative one. If SS and me are trolls, then you and GCC are rampers. Perhaps more accurately, we're all PIs with different views. Your real irritation comes because SS and me have been right so far and you've lost money, when actually , you should be using this experience to learn more to improve your own investment approach.

Decent figures. Full yr eps consensus forecast as of yesterday was 21p (10.9p first half) so we'll probably see some small upgrades, but perhaps not earth shattering. More interesting to see if forecast for 2018 increases from 24p. Now on 24x this year, perhaps falling to 20x next. Not outrageous, but not desperately cheap either. I'll continue to hold here, but would probably reduce if it goes beyond 5.50 in the short term.

Confluence - the reason I said the price would fall was simply the normal reaction of any price when a payment is made by the Company(eg divvy) which is for the price to fall by the same amount. This would have happened as well, except the Company decided to simply reduce the number of shares through a stock-recapitalization to offset this. Both approaches are economically the same for the shareholder, and either way, I was always positive on the stock. I did take the opportunity earlier in the year to sell some at £24, but bought them back at £20, so all good. Anyway, congrats on your investment which has obviously gone well in its early stages!

Spot on HITS. I'm afraid though, that this Board does indeed have more than its fair share of idiots who behave in exactly the way you would expect of them. And guess what, they've all lost money here - go figure.

Well friendly McFirth, the stock price closed 2 days ago at 8.7p and is currently, as I type, 8.6p. Not sure what schools you went to, but my degree in mathematics tells me that this is a reduction not an increase ;-). Regarding my position, I've been very clear for some time that I sold out at 80p. I'm not short the stock, but in hindsight, I wish I had been!! All the best.

Yep, been a long term holder of LGEN (as GS knows), and been buying into Lloyds over the last 6 weeks or so. very happy with both, but clearly sentiment on financials not great at the moment!

You are a total fool man) - it means two possible distinct and opposite outcomes - either it generates sufficient revenues and Ebitda to begin paying down the debt (in which case it is very undervalued) or it doesn't which means shareholders will get zero. I have never claimed to be an expert in the satellite industry, but I do understand investment, financing, and business models. You're welcome by the way. Anything else I can do to help, please shout....

WO - yes, there are other satellite companies with a lot of debt, but few (if any?) whose cash flow versus interest payments on debt is as worryingly low as Avanti's. On the flip side, you now have a penny share price which to some extent has discounted that, which makes this a binary stock going forwards. For me, if I want a binary bet, I'll go to a casino or a bookies, but everyone's risk tolerance is different of course.

Mcfirth - presumably he's been employed to improve this Company's woeful corporate governance. Too little too late IMV. Remember he's a non-exec, not part of the front line management.

He's joining as a non-exec and being handsomely paid for his time no doubt (which is more than the shareholders have been) He won't be investing any of his money in the stock, so no downside for him, and his appointment is not a sign of a different outlook for the Company positive or negative. Wake up people.

Terrific news. Of course no indication yet on whether the new troponin revenues will offset the license which is finishing this month.

Confluence - yes, the number of shares in issue is down by around 7.5% and so is all shareholders' share holdings. The Stock is not up 7.9% - you need to compare the share price today to £22.73 (the price at which, the (value of your new holding plus the return of capital) = your previous holding), so it's actually up about 1%.
