Thank you. You have put into words my thoughts on the current situation regarding BP SP.

You, along with Happy, bring rational thought to the irrational. ( thanks guys) I am not going to stress out over short term turbulence. I iam fortunate enough to be able to hold £200k long term. In 12 to 18 months, I will be content with SP 350p ish Good fortune to all.

Only 1% down ex dividend is not too bad. Personally a temporary drop to 262ish would be another opportunity to load up. Maybe not too many more chances.

Thank you for your time and considered response to my post. I appreciate your time, logic and opinion. My view and strategy for my large Sipp BP holding is similar to yours. DYOR is essential but an opinion from an obviously experienced, logical, investor assists. Thanks again Happy.

Thanks for your posts Happy. I have similar views to you on BP. Regarding your intention to reduce your holding at 300p ( if I understand you correctly) With this being only 10% rise away, could I please ask what your strategy would be at 300p+ and a longer term SP / timing view ? I would be grateful for your knowledgeable view if possible. Thanks in advance. Mark

An opportunity taken to top up 11k sub 280 with the divi. Long term holder so not concerned with the sgort term BP ups and downs of the next 12 months 200k in for the next 12 months or so

I hope ' this is the run ' for BP but many ftse companies are up 4 - 5 % today, many with far less reason to be than BP. I hope this is a genuine turn point but in any event BP SP will ( should ) be a long term 12 -18 month cert. I intend on holding until north of £4 . Regards and good fortune all.
