Excuse my inexperience but are you suggesting that BP is overbought at this level and, if so, a SP reduction is on your charts ?

A weak effort to push on and make a gain, followed by drifting lower and bobbing up and down in boredom land 320 - 315 - 317 end of play.
I hope I'm totally wrong.

Just wondering, what about if the all the upcoming good news on profits for the next twelve months is mostly already factored in to BP's current SP and this level is fair value in the recovery from 198 to 315 ??

As a long term holder, I looking for a response that this is not possible !!!!

Hi and welcome. ( its eerily quiet on this board today )

With the preamble of doing your own research always and making your own decisions based on this, if I had the funds available to hold BP shares and buy additional under an isa wrapper I would do so with a medium to long term view.

My position is that I hold BP in my SIPP with a long term 2-3 year+ view and a large holding in my share account.
I have used my full previous years Isa allowances in inflexible investments but I intend on loading up with BP/Shell in my upcoming 21/22 allowance, at current levels, as well as my 21/22 Sipp allowance.

£4+ within 12 months is likely. Regardless of BP gaining 25% in the last month, this is still a fantastic opportunity at today's SP. BP was 198, I started investing at 255. A bit late to the party then but a long way still to run especially with a 12 month view.

I think you are calling it correctly. The recent large drop of tech values has created an short term opportunity to invest in the perceived over selling but this transition out of tech is underway. I'm positive that BP will be a beneficiary. It's just a matter of time. Continuing to top up and looking forward the future. Long term winner.

It is clear that BP SP movements are not tied direclty to the oil price. Oil goes up BP SP goes down and vice versa recently. It is of course a factor but market / institutional sentiment affects the SP more. We are still at the beginning of a recovery and an opening up of the global economy. In my opinion, in six month time the SP will be higher. It is a frustrating waiting game but watching the SP daily is not recommended. As other more experienced posters on here have stated, this is a fantastic long term hold. First date of interest Q1 results 27th April ( I think ) £4+ Q4

Apologies for the incorrect BP adr price earlier. This was due to a current glitch on Hargreaves Lansdown's app. It currently states BP adr updated at 16.50hr 8th March. +$0.81 (3.27%) !!

Another 10k top up at 317. Long term this must be a no brainer. I just snapped out of stressing over taking too much notice of the day movements. £4+ end of year , £4+ end of year.. repeat to self....

Drop not across othe oils.. Tullow still up 8% , Premier still up 8% even Shell positive.
