THG give an example of food and beverages outsourced, direct-to-consumer market online sales TAM to be over 114bn GBP by 2023. THG think they could take 9bn GBP revenue by 2023 in this market alone, highlighted by their work with brands like Toblerone which launched in with them in September 2021 www.toblerone.co.uk/ and HOTEL Chocolat www.hotelchocolat.com (which THG run as a branded global commerce site). Today was a tough day for THG longs, so it's good to think about the opportunities in this company and growth potential again. This webcast gave me a confidence boost again tonight.
The FUD around investors not being happy rings very untrue with me from the way they sounded asking their questions and the clear answers given.
Q4 sales seem likely to be very very strong. Financials seem to be very strong with profits building. E.g. they mention having 700m cash on hand going into their Q4 cash generation period; they talk about Ingenuity being self capitalizing and forecasts are de-risked at 80% vs their confirmed customer orderbook; they talk about the key US sites going onto the new platform and live for Q4 and getting useful data already from the new sites; they talk about the new automated Manchester warehouse enabling them to process more orders at lower costs and being well stocked for Q4, and considering it was recorded late October, they sounded very confident and bullish for Q4 and 2022.
All in all the whole thing is extremely positive and worth a half hour listen.

I agree, a lot of sell off today on retail and smaller etail especially like THG, ASOS -6.55%, BOO -5.67% and AO.com, I expect due to a belief that as traditional retail outlets will pick up some of the sales these guys may have enjoyed last peak due to lockdowns.

Banks and investment companies did ok today. The old me would have **** my pants and sold THG today. Instead I sold off loads more of my stocks which were in better positions and bought more THG. A big sector red day like this is often followed by some level of reversal the next day, so I'll either look to sell some of today's buys for early profit tomorrow and try to re-buy back cheaper later, or more likely just look to continue holding longer.

MM is likely trying to heed the advice he was given after the GQ announcement and just keep quiet. I do expect a huge rebound when they announce peak trading forecasts in a few weeks. I think we need to be patient as shorters close their positions.

You never know. Maybe the industry knows there's a chairman announcement due, so they've dialled up to 11 on the pressure to kill off the last retail investors before good news comes.
A big red day is almost always followed by some reversal, even if it is short term

Retail investors are getting taken out one by one by the algo bots and fear. I get their fear. I'm up to my neck now.
I just keep reminding myself of the 18th October when the stock jumped 20% following a very red day. Praying for a good RNS soon.

THG is an incredible business. I have no concerns about that and the fundamentals, and neither did T-Rowe last week.

Bought another 7500

Two massive volume spike mid trading today with prices increasing with the volumes.
12:49 260k volume. Price jumped from 186.6 to 189 on the minute candle.
13:21 201k volume. Price jumped from 186.1 to 189.9 on the minute candle.

I'm looking forward to THG branching out into many other brands, other high margin retail plays such as Jewellery.

Ok, let me re-prase that, not a majority stake in the business, but they hold the largest amount of stocks of other major funds/institutions.

I disagree. Both company performances are good in my opinion. I like both companies. The profit of THG will come when the board reduce their re-investment in growth. Darktrace as a software business has it's initial operational costs in global sales offices, but once those sales are set up, customer retention is high.

The marketplace today is checking the weakness of THG buyers hands which traded about 300k shares yesterday at 186 to 188 and we've now just about got through that volume so we should see a slow up-tick from here. Its all about psychology of retail investors.
The funds and institutions invested in THG don't want this share to be at this price forever, but they can afford to wait it out.

I know the IPO pricing and currently pricing now of both the companies.
My point is they have both come out of post IPO lock-up period and have had a 50%+ attack on their share prices from their highs to wipe out retail investors, with Funds and Institutions increasing their positions, despite negative articles and apparently not being liked by Institutions and Funds. When I see a lot of fud and Institutions and Funds loading up, I know it's a stock to buy, but carefully and at the right price. I think now on THG, based on the technical analysis, price patterns and volume flow. I may be wrong, but I don't think I am. Time will tell.

Exactly the same tree shake is going on with Darktrace currently.
Typical post IPO retail investor shake downs on companies that the city institutions clearly want to be fully invested in.
I keep going back to this MorningStar report. If Institutional Investors and Funds are buying more than they are selling, they are increasing positions from retail private investors.

I said yesterday I was expecting a hit of 190 again, but look at the volumes being traded. this is clearly just retail investors being pushed around and it will bounce in my view.
today 8am to 8:55 - 189k shares traded.
yesterday same time - 500k shares traded.
These going through on the drop are very low volumes.
Around 3 million shares swapped hands over the last couple of days between 187 and 191. We're now getting to about 3 million traded above that price since, so we "should" see an upward swing soon I believe.

It's narrowing more now but I haven't seen such a wide spread on THG for a long time in early trading.
1st 15 minutes trading only 43k units vs 116k yesterday.

Does anyone else use TradingView. Sorry, I didn't mean to get people's hopes up this morning. Genuinely, it was saying a pre-market number against 4 stocks of mine in a long list this morning and normally LSE doesn't show a pre-market figure in TradingView, whereas the US stocks always do.
I'd like to know what it may have signalled.
