Just FYI on settlement funds10 May 2019 15:03
If, like me, you have money invested elsewhere that you will be using to fund this, make sure you know the difference between trading date and settlement date, very important!
The below is straight from Halifax.
The trade date is when you placed the order, when this is done you basically agree to a short term contract with a counterparty that the ownership of shares will move from them to you (or the other way around) on a certain date, with money going in the opposite direction. For UK shares the settlement date is 2 working days after trade date, 3 working days for internationals, and 4 working days for a fund trade.
You need to have funds *settled* before the market closes on **Tuesday**, or you account despite having funds in it will not have settled funds.
Therefore no uptake of oo shares.
