@Scamp yeah some good points I do think that Industrial Relations will improve and we will get a deal. I dont think for one moment it is going to be that great but we will see. The down point will be the results in a few weeks which I think will be extremely poor anyone who thinks the industry is making a profit is I believe is going to be disappointed. Until letters and unaddressed mail pick up things do not look good despite increased parcel volumes.
@200 No they were not
@Pie But they are also restricted by geography. There is only so much that you can stretch the area being served until it becomes unviable. Three machines will simply not cover the whole country it wont it is that simple. It may take big chunks but not to a degree where it cover the country not by far
@AB You are correct even the small psm's require a minimum height level and a lot of MC's simply do not fit that sole criteria. The footprint for the machine is substantial and again many MC's just would not be able to function if they could site a machine.
11 sometimes 12 to run this can be lower on start up of the machine but obviously the throughputs suffer. I dont have the figures for the actual v design but i can assure you it is poor. As for the roll out of future models I know they were working on improvements but whether they come to fruition i have no idea
@200 I suspect you work out of South Mids. The PSMS do not have the ability to sort to walk lever, they would have to be ridiculously large pieces of kit to be able to do that and it would also increase your transportation costs even it was possible which it is not. They are not great machines despite the hype behind them the reject rates are ridiculous and they are limited in size and weight to what they can sort. An extremely poor purchase for the money. Royal Mail do not own the software for the machine either I believe that belongs to an American firm although i may be wrong. Awful bit of business. In my opinion rolling them out even further is not the answer but there you are
Obviously dependant on the density of the area you are delivering to it may or may not be a good rate. delivering 60 parcels would take about two hours at a good pace so it aint a good rate
@JB Yep the more work the better
I am hearing Parcel force are in absolute dire straits. They are totally inundated with work so much so that their DO's are refusing to accept any further trailers. These trailers are now stacked up at Coventry hub hundreds of them. RM will be getting some of this work the Addidas contract starts Tuesday more may follow
@Scamp let us know when you have anymore ripping yarns from drivers, it is absolutely riveting stuff.
@Scamp And whilst you are watching all this going on. What are you doing? Oh the irony
It is part of the original agreement made with Moya Green and reneged on by Back. The CWU are the driving force behind this.
@Wolves Let me take you back to post you made either last week or the week before that. In which you were claiming that you were performing 50 hours work per week. So you see and i know this is something which will be impossible for you to achieve, please be consistent in your arguments. You cannot claim to have done all of the work as a part times and worked 50 hours a week which two more than a full timer. Dunderhead
@Oli
You are correct that was the Dutch model i recall.
@Oli or Michael Gove given his car crash interview this morning.
@Wolves I am not sure how you dream this stuff up very puzzling indeed. Eventually we will get down to a 35 hour week and i would suspect by then we will have four day weeks as well. The UK economy is on its arse unless this Government wants high unemployment levels for the next 5 years they better think outside of the box. Full timers will never depreciate and Wolves every time we get an hour off the working week you get a pay rise. You have so much to be thankful to the CWU for because this sure as hell does not come from the employer without a fight. It is always the CWU that make things happen not the employer
@Wolves do you accept i am correct?
@Ringpiece At least i have balls. I have heard all this before with Moya and Rico its soooooo dull. We have someone we can work with that will do now onto the shorter working week and a pay rise for a year. You are paying for it through oyur divi's .. Don't you just love shareholders
@Wolves Yeah they did, well worked out. But you see this is negotiations work, first you get a proposal either from the union or the employer. Then comes the negotiation on that proposal, that is how you negotiate. Secondly you bring that back to the membership, which they have and then return to the employer to amend and improve the deal. There now, do you get it
@ Wolves first of all what an hypocrite you are but I think we all knew that any way. Secondly the CWU of which apparently you are now a member never made the rules on that payment Royal Mail did. They are though trying to renegotiate the payment with the employer to make it fairer for part timers. I am sure you will join with me in a round of applause on that one for Dave Ward and Terry Pullinger because Royal Mail dont give a damn about you.
