@Red Ah your still seething about Rico getting thrown off the cliff. Red it was for the best, he was worst than useless and you kept defending him time after time. Look its not all bad this PLC world. We have regular pay rises the workload has not really grown that much because we have a introvert senior management team. We have a CEO who is going to work with the CWU and we havent had to take one days strike action no ones been made to rake redundancy. As for management we cannot make their bad decisions for them can we. They are hapless i admit but you lot must think something of them because you ahve bought into this share

@Arsenal Just to let you know that under Moyas tenure the attendance procedure gave staff more flexibility. If you never had time off for 6 months your record was duly amended. This PLC world aint all bad you know

What a shameful lot you are, postal workers have died during this pandemic as well as nurses doctors bus drivers and others. Yet here you are calling the staff are lazy. It says a lot but no matter how you belittle postal workers one thing you will never overcome and that is their loyalty to the CWU. One of the strongest Trade Unions in the Kingdom and always will be. Moya tried to break us and failed Rico had a really good go and failed in utter shame and disgrace. You will never beat us ever we are far too strong and we stand together and you will never change that for all your words. @Gen DPD are light years ahead of RM. Really? they have roughly 10% of the market they are not tied to the USO so your comparison is garbage. They are struggling like mad now with the volumes get over yourself. The CWU will get this industry renationalised eventually though you are correct on that point and Rico's recent tenure has given them so much armour its incredible

@Arse totally different industries so the comparison is a bad one. But as it stands at the moment and the economic situation for nay manufacturing company, there would be a difficulty even for the CWU. But using manufacturing industry and servicing industries is a very poor comparator

@Arse We have an agreement no compulsory redundancies that just happens to be a fact. Thats the bigger picture you are looking for, go against it and it ends one way and that is industrial action. You seem to have forgotten Rico also stated that there would be no need for redundancy as it would be natural wastage. I also disagree with the 50% rate for any redundancy linked to automation, it is actually nowhere near that figure. Finally the automation project would not cover the whole country not with 3 centres it would not have the reach and would unviable. Planning in any further automation above the 3 is outside of the 5 year plan and more like 10 year if ever i would imagine. It is a crap plan that is very costly will only make the 3 centres extremely strong in terms of the union in those centres and it wont work in the winter but there you are

@Arse Well you see here is the difference. None of the other Companies stated have a union as strong as the CWU and certainly not when it comes to negotiating terms and conditions of employment and this includes redundancy. And here is the twist, we have an agreement with the employer for no compulsory redundancies. Welcome to the world of Trade Unionism, you have just been owned. Next.

@Oli that summary is a absolutely spot on. And therein lies the indudtrial negligence by Rico. He deliberately destroyed that agreement to make it unworkable there was no way that whilst he was in tenure the CWU were going to have a hand in growing the industry. Incompetent ngligence at its very best and the board supported that regime. But of course it then became the CWU are not prepared to accept change and people on here are a tually stupid enough to believe that. Let us hope they havent yet again recruited to the height of incompetence in the new CEO

@Carrington then i suggest you state who your response is to it makes life easier you see. Massive difference between what happened to the NUM in the 80's and the CWU as of today. You seem to be remiss of the fact that the anti striking legislation that is in place at the moment is largely ignored anyway so it is pretty meaningless. No the Tories as they are at present are no real danger to the CWU at all.
