@Phobeus, IBKR is very good. It’s a serious platform for pro investors, nothing like HL or II which is all sugar coated to make it simple and easy for the armchair investor.
You have to know roughly what you’re doing on IBKR. I managed to go short (sell) on a stock when I intended to buy, which was rather embarrassing.
You can also use margin and leverage and many other pro tools which I avoid or simply don’t fully understand.

The app is simpler to use than the website.

The main advantage is that you can hold different currencies in different accounts.

I have about half my pot in GBP and half in USD so there’s no FX fee when buying or selling US stocks.

You’ll also find that everything is listed, where as HL doesn’t list a lot of shares.

My only negative is that I can’t use IBKR to invest/trade my SIPP or ISAs, so it’s just the cash element and is all subject to capital gains tax (should I ever actually make a decent profit!)

There are tutorial videos on IBKR. Have a run through those first.

Oh, the account opening process was fine. Much the same as opening a Coinbase or Binance account.

I thought the US ADRs and our London listed shares were the same? 1 ADR share is the equivalent of 10 LSE shares?

If that is indeed correct, why would you want to buy the US version in dollars and pay the huge HL FX fee twice when you can just buy ARB in GBX and pay no FX fee?

HL don’t even give us the option of converting funds into another currency and trading in that currency. They charge a large FX fee on every buy and every sell.

I use my IBKR account for trading foreign stocks and use HL for trading or holding UK stocks and only for holding foreign stocks.

This is good news.

Just noticed another RNS at 3.17pm today.

It’s talking about 10 million more shares being issued.

Is this more shares and more dilution? Or were these ones already announced? I can’t keep up with it all at the moment.

I've just bookmarked this page and will check there each morning rather than relying on this site.

Could it partly explain why such a great RNS didn’t do much for the SP?

Why didn’t the OTC ARBKF shares automatically convert into ARBK shares upon launch?

I really don’t understand how this could have been allowed to happen. The OTC shareholders have been royally shafted, losing -30% on their shares.

I suspect us LSE holders will see a similar drop tomorrow.

I appreciate that there would probably have been a drop anyway, if Argo had just done this as another fund raise and dilution, but it does seem a bit unfair to the OTC shareholders to go an launch more of the “same” shares on Nasdaq for a 30% discount.

The OTC holders could have sold yesterday at $2.20 and bought back in at $15 today. Seems like a really bad way to launch onto Nasdaq to me. We now have thousands of seriously pi55ed off OTC shareholders (bag holders)

Totally pointless buying Nasdaq shares in the UK if you ask me. The dual listing mean the prices are supposed to match each other, and buying US shares on HL will mean a large fee for FX on top of the spread.

I’d actually be surprised if HL make them available when the “same” shares are on LSE and in GBX.

It does seem odd to have gone for $15 when the initial number banded around was $18.40.

I know it’s very hard to choose an IPO price, too low and existing shareholder feel hard done by, too high and the IPO may not get bought up = disaster.

But why not just stick with the $18.40 that most were probably expecting?

That price would have raised another ~$25m

Surely if you own shares in the USA ARBKF OTC stock, they'll automatically convert into ARBK shares on Nasdaq at some point tomorrow, once the IPO is done? (At 10 to 1 ratio)

I don't imagine they'll have the same company listed on both Nasdaq and OTC....

You’d think if an IPO was tomorrow, there would have been some sort of official RNS about it by the day before. The fact nothing has been released makes me think it probably isn’t going to happen tomorrow. Who knows?

It actually increased my average a little. 2.2m shares in the pot now. Crickey.

I hope so too. Just snapped up another 200k (2 x 100k) at 3.539p. I’ve got another buy order in for the same again at a slightly lower price.

I’ve been a long term holder for nearly a decade and have great hopes that our patience may finally gets rewarded.

May the next few weeks bring some long awaiting RNSs.

Exactly. These BTC linked shares tend to attract a lot of the “where lambo” brigade and bedroom investors who do not fully understand how a share price relates to a company valuation.

I also agree with the poster above that the ADR pricing of 10 shares for $18 will add a lot of confusion for the small private investor. I’m not sure how obvious it is when buying (ADR) shares in the US.

Maybe it will play out as a major benefit and our share price will eventually rocket past the price of our competitors and actually make us look like the best place to invest. Who knows.
