The pre market can have big volumes too, but usually it’s low so small trades can moves it a lot.

The crazy moves of GMC/AMC etc earlier in the year tended to be on the pre/post markets just as much as the regular market.

I had thought that the ADR pre moves were not correlated to our London stocks until our market opens.

This can be proven on Monday bank holidays when our market is closed and the USA is open.

I have a trading account with IBKR and can trade the pre/post markets in the USA but for some reason not in the uk. I don’t know how a PI can access the uk pre market.

I seems daft to ban direct flights but "allow" people to circumvent that by do the trip in two legs.

What's the point? To reduce numbers? Or is it just impossible to police it properly?

You are right that there is no official open/close to the crypto markets, but there is an assumed official one. There has to be an "open/close" time or how would there be any hourly, daily, weekly, monthly data available if there was not a global time delta used by everyone to produce the data?

In fact, some have speculated that the futures etf might lead to the BTC price crashing as they can be shorted to hell. Willy Woo is expecting it to do bad things.

I think lots of people are expecting this ETF to send BTC into the stratosphere.

It is only a FUTURES ETF, it’s not a spot etf, which would be more likely to necessitate some buying of actual BTC. A futures etf is just a gambling play on the price, no new coins need to be bought by the fund or the players.

It’s the spot etfs that are on the horizon which might have a marked effect on the price of BTC, like they did to the price of gold when spot gold etfs were launched in 2004.

There's a big Apple event tomorrow, with "exciting announcements"! Hopefully the announcement that they've hoovered up $2bn of BTC and are launching an Apple Exchange and wallet app for iPhone.

Buying MSTR now at the level it’s at currently ($750) is pretty similar to choosing to buy BTC now. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not. BTC could have a decent pull back at any time. It’s likely to happen before the mega run up to $100k that everyone is predicting. Maybe better to wait for a dip than jump in now. Who knows.

Micro strategy is a funny one. It pumped massively during the first BTC bullrun to the ATH, but it then had a big premium over the value of the BTC.

That premium tends to go up and down while the SP also goes up and down so there can be variations which seem out of kilter with BTC. The most recent moves have seen the MSTR premium go for +15% to near parity, which is why MSTR doesn’t seem to have moved up as much as BTC has over the last month.

Personally, I think MSTR will pump again once BTC pumps past the ATH. Either that or it won’t because everyone is a bit wiser now. Who knows.

I’ve been underwater on my MSTR shares since May (only just turned green again this week) and averaged down just like I’ve had to with Argo. Now wish I’d traded it over days and weeks rather than taking the buy and hold approach, again, similar to Argo.

Hopefully things will come good on both counts soon!

As Mr Chuz says, there was some discussion about this last week.

It seems that the brokers are all allowed to start talking about ARBK forecasts from Monday 18th Oct, but the main quiet period for company announcements and news doesn’t end until the 2nd Nov.

I guess we’ll find out on Monday. No idea if it ends on Monday morning or Monday night, though.

Sorry to be negative Xerxes300, but that document is not an SEC approval, it's merely saying that Nasdaq have approved all the paperwork for the ETF to go live once they get the SEC approval, hopefully next week.

It's not over the line yet.

However, I fear the recent uptick in BTC is due to many people believing that the SEC has given approval. Reverse FUD if you will. ;-)
