Can someone explain why SOV is thought to be a good punt, please?

It is very difficult for banks and companies to invest directly in BTC, like MSTR has. Most companies will not wish to do it, as Apple explained last week.

A spot ETF, classed as a security, would mean all banks, companies, US financial entities could bypass all the current rigorous paperwork and impairment issues by buying the ETF rather than the asset itself.

= Massive can of worms. (Epic for BTC's price, but the exact opposite of what the SEC and FED want to happen to BTC)

I can’t see a spot ETF gaining US approval for the simple reason that it would be classed as a security and would open an enormous can of worms far earlier than the SEC wishes.

Not going to happen.

I was chatting to a friend about whale games last night.

It goes like this.....

1 - Wait for a moment where there's FUD in the air and a reason to doubt the markets (crypto or regular markets)

2 - Set up a massive short trade with 100X leverage

3 - Set up a massive sell order for maybe 1000 BTC

4 - Execute the short, then the sell in quick succession

5 - Sit back and watch BTC price plummet and your 100X short make many millions of $$ profit

6 - Close short with massive gains

7 - Buy back your 1000 BTC at lower price

It must be so much fun being a whale with 10,000 BTC in your Coinbase account.

Apparently last night there was a 100X short trade placed with 80 BTC moments before the BTC dip began. It's all done by the big boys as there's no regulation, so it's a free for all.

One thing that really helped;ps get things going is when we hit the top ten "most watched/viewed" on the main investment platforms.

It generated big FOMO and is what helped lead to the boom earlier in the year.

The good news is, that we just appeared on the Hargreaves Landsdown top 10 movers list again!!

Ok just tried again and can sell £1000 at 129 and over £100,000 worth at 129 also! Wow.

No quote to sell £1000 of ARB on HL just now when I did a dummy buy/sell.

What does that mean?

I guess they've just had so many sell orders triggered when it shot up to 140p, that they have to sell them all before they want to buy any more?

Seems odd not to be able to sell £1000 worth on the biggest PI platform in the UK?

@Hexam - agreed - I should not have said that the additional 125 BTC equivalent came from 'mining'.

It has come from somewhere though and my point was that it's a huge amount of revenue and stra=nge that we have no idea where it's come from.

So they mined 167 Bitcoins but also mined the equivalent of 125 Bitcoins from elsewhere.

That is amazing!

Why do they not give any indication as to where that additional 125 “BTC” came from??

If they said they’d mined 292 BTC this month, the SP would rocket up! But the only figure people tend to remember when making their comparisons to Mara/Riot/Hut is the 167 figure.

And how better to get the info read by many many people, than to spread it across the front page of all the media outlets as a “Whoops look what we did!!”

I only wish they’d released a mega October mining results RNS today as well.

I'm gutted the tweet has been deleted as it was starting to get retweeted a lot, and could genuinely have been the catalyst to get our share price moving.

Maybe PW didn't want it releasing until after the operational update tomorrow.
