I had a small buy order hit on Friday. Been in the pipes for a few weeks, and I thought about pulling it, but decided to leave it in place.

Anyone else buying here, or just me? Lol.

This looks extremely good value to my mind, but the SP action is suggesting otherwise. What am I missing?

I am also starting to wonder if we are going to become a bid target if this drops much lower.

There are a few infrequent posters here that seem to be very knowledgeable LTH's.

I am on the fence with BUR. I find it hard to put what I deem a 'fair' value on them, or more precisely to determine whether or not they are already in that range, or in price-disconnect (and therefore opportunity) territory.

IMO, it is not as easy to crunch the numbers/apply fundamentals to them, as it is for a lot of other entities. But that could just be my limitations :)

It is one that I will keep an eye on in 2025 though.

As for this name: I need to do some actual research into the current financials, as well as looking to see if there has been some decent inside buying of late. Among other things.

I also had the BUR case in mind earlier, albeit they acquired the rights to that lawsuit, of course. So slightly different.

Depends on whether or not another/other suitors might offer them equal or better terms, for geopolitical reasons.

And yet there have been plenty of third world countries that have done exactly that, in spite of these potential consequences. Just in the last few decades.

This is not even the only African nation embroiled in some (seemingly completely erroneous) commercial disputes today.

I have no opinion on whether or not the cash claim figures are too high, or in the right ball park, as per the recent court judgement.

Well, Mama M was largely responsible for the small boat problems in the first place. Something that IMO added a lot of votes to the Leave campaign. So remainers should probably direct some of their anger in her direction.

As to the Dublin Agreement and a various assortment of other asylum-related legislation...if anyone thinks that these laws are going to exist, or at least be honoured, in even 15-20 years time...well, we will have to agree to disagree on that opinion.

Brexit was driven by a strong desire to curb immigration.

Most people were fine with skilled tradesmen from Eastern Europe. Bankers from Germany etc.

Most people were not fine with Roma beggars and other criminally-inclined, or merely economically undesirable, arrivals with EU passports.

That things have continued unabated on this front since Brexit, tells us all we need to know about the value of our democracy at this point in time, some might feel.

And it is funny how so little priority is given to cleaning rivers and lakes for example (or preventing mass immigration, which is as environmentally unfriendly as you can get!)...presumably because there is not so much money to be made doing genuine environmentally positive things.

Yep. And at least it is not as bad as the public sector pension liabilities.

Huge numbers of people employed, with proportionately far more generous terms and conditions than those in the real economy.

Many of which were jobs that the state had no business creating, in the first place.

One of the challenges that many older UK businesses face, is having the millstone of these historic pension liabilities to honour.

Far, far more generous than current ones, on a like for like basis. And in many cases, without anything like the kind of headcount efficiencies or productivity pressures/targets that are expected today.

One of the reasons why US companies are doing so much better IMO. None of this legacy baggage.

The shareholders do not have to accept any offers that arise. And in virtually all cases on AIM, the major shareholders are the only ones that make such decisions. To all intents and purposes.

In this case, I am not sure that any offers under 500p would get the light of day, given what many of us think could be achieved in the next few years here.

But I could be wrong of course and FWIW, bird in hand philosophy etc, I would take a fiver if that was offered right now :)

To all intents and purposes, the UK and Europe have been in recession for a while. And Germany's terrible economy essentially brushed under the carpet for at least a year. Because of how important a bellwether they are.

There has been some extraordinary efforts made to put lipstick on these various (and proverbial) national pigs...which seems to have been fairly successful, insofar as convincing a lot of ordinary people that all is fairly well.

China looks to me to be basically where we were in 2008/2009. So in even worse shape than us, Germany and France.

We just have to hope that Brent Johnson's Dollar Milkshake Theory does not come to pass. DXY is currently 108. Until that comes down, a lot of asset classes are going to continue to come under intense pressure.

And even the US cannot continue to rack up debt like it has been indefinitely. Global reserve currency or not. AIMO.

Fair points. We basically agree. I think the disconnect between US and UK stocks, even allowing for some of the justifiable reasons for one having a premium and one a discount, is probably a bit too wide. But time will tell.

And FWIW, I have a bigger percentage of my overall p/f in some US names, than I have ever had before. Because I see this disconnect continuing for some time yet. GLA.

Nike has a normalised P/E of 19.5. JD is 7.

Like you, I am waiting in the wings, because I think I might be able to repurchase a position(s) at a lower price.

I remain confident that this will happen (although of course it might not)...but that is because I think that market sentiment will deliver it, rather than a poor company update changing the metrics.

Pokerchips made a good comment, a few days ago I think it was, outlining some of the risks to the business strategy. And I came to a similar viewpoint.

But the bull case has lots going for it. Otherwise it would not even be on my radar.

I said back on the 5th that I thought I saw a gap around 57p. Looks like we are going to revisit it.

IMO, it would be more of a concern if the wider markets were ripping. As things stand, we are simply moving inline with the rest.

Perhaps simply a waiting game until the next update, although this one can often surprise you, so just going to roll with the flow and what will be, will be.

Assuming they let them go (which hopefully they will).

Which would be a nice little earner for us, a cherry on top, while their existing operations continue to hopefully develop and with it, the SP back to higher levels than now.

In the meantime, I have added a further small tranche today. Will likely continue to nibble sub 280p while the opportunity lasts. All being well, not too long though :) GLA.
