I think if they end up making big strides in the US market, then the commercial case for changing our listing might be more valid.
As things stand, and given how the US has been a graveyard for many a foreign business, I think they should just keep paying down the debt and growing revenue (and more importantly, profit).
Certainly for the time being anyway.
They could then increase dividends and maybe even initiate a buy back.
So for me, in this particular case, no. I think we should stay put. And I do believe at some point in the next few years, we will get a government that will be very pro-business again. Maggie style.
Because the pendulum has swung far too far in the past few years. Historically, you get a similar swing in the other direction after a time. And that is when the quality UK entities still listed here should reap the benefits.
To be clear, I would like to see something far more radical than Maggie ever did, but I do not think the pendulum will go that far! GLA.
