Not sure I agree with that conclusion, but I am surprised that the SP is here, one day from ex div.

I am sure that I am going to regret not buying more today, but I will live with it :)

I like this company and am confident that it will weather the storm ahead.

But IMO this is not the bottom, so I too have taken the opportunity to sell most of my holdings today for a small profit.

In truth, I did not think we would rise on that update, but obviously glad to be wrong.

Probably have left a fair amount on the table for someone else to enjoy, but that is fine :)

It will remain on my watch list though, in case I get the chance to jump back in. A return to the 130's would be extremely tempting - but obviously that day may never come. GLA.

I simply do not have enough specialist knowledge in this niche area, to even try to give an opinion on what true value might be, in the case of IM.

I defer to other posters, and of course JW, when it comes to such - at this stage - theoretical calculations.

What I have concluded, from my own fairly primitive research, is that it would be no insignificant project, both in terms of time and cost.

But, hopefully in the event of a good judgement, I am willing to put my full trust in the BOD to make a decision on such things, which represent the best interests of the company and of the shareholder base.

It is why they get paid, after all :)

In a lending environment like this one, unless you are one of the big boys, I think the value of having cash in the bank would far exceed the benefit of even thinking about trying to develop the IM asset in any capacity.

I could see a farm out scenario offering a bit of the best of both worlds only in principle, because in practice, I am not sure any such deal would actually be as attractive for us as a clean sale.

I mean, company X would already know that we did not have the means to go it alone, and any farm out bidding scenario for IM would IMO be a fairly controlled, and possibly convoluted, process. Because company Y and Z would also know this.

Far better IMO to let a bidding war take place for a clean sale. That would be a far more attractive scenario to said big boys and thus would IMO command a higher premium too. Remember the old maxim: KISS.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's see what the decision is before we start planning too far ahead! GLA.

Very sensible, PB. IMO, it is probably mainly traders positioning for an update, rather than a leak.

In fact, IMO if it was a leak, the SP would already have spiked far, far higher - or lower - than this, so personally, I would discount that notion.

To the poster mentioning STX: I am a fairly LTH in that one. While I have bottom-drawed my shares, I would not dream of recommending it here or elsewhere. The less said about the previous BOD the better (which may feel familiar to LTH of RENE also!), but the current CEO is still a long way off delivering for shareholders anywhere near enough to justify his current remuneration either. I suppose I should add an 'IMO' to that last statement. By all means, take a look over there and draw your own conclusions from all the RNS material, financial reports etc. But yes, it does have a product now in the market and growing.

Anyway, back on topic. Nice to see the SP action of late in RENE. In Iain, we trust :) GLA.

All fair points, madm0nk. Especially regarding PM market manipulation, for which there are almost no consequences, even when such activities get exposed and bad actors get fined.

As to scarcity, well, perhaps. Certainly if the green agenda stuff gets shelved it would have an impact on silver demand. As would an end to wars. The latter far less likely than the former, although I do not think the former has been milked enough by those driving it yet.

Then you have AISC to consider with all the miners, of course. At some point, various mines across the globe will have to be mothballed if the spot price does not rise.

It has happened before and then they get reopened when it becomes commercially sensible to do so. At which point you already have a severe shortage usually, on top of a lag time before operations are back up and running etc.

However, even before the above scenario plays out, if it plays out, there is already a strong case for the opinion of an impending supply shortage in silver I think. Underpinned by the belief of a futures market that you simply cannot trust IMO and for which there is already a significant amount of evidence in the public domain to support such an opinion.

I think I am right in saying that silver is the only commodity that has not made an all time high in the past 15 years or so.

No idea when it will, or what it will reach, but IMO it is a near-certainty that one day it will nevertheless hit a new ATH.

If nothing else, because of the declining fiat currencies.

But, even though I probably sit within the silver bull camp, I am not all in silver, or any other asset class, for that matter. Can never understand the mentality of those who put absolutely everything they own into one single asset class (not talking about those for whom the choice is not within their grasp - eg the 'just about managing' cohort of society).

520's or so. Would take a lot more in the 400's if it went that low.

I am long term bullish on commodities though, and also in the camp that can see a materially higher silver price sooner or later in particular.

Could be wrong of course, so just my opinion. We may equally see a big PM spot price sell off before any vertical reverse in the months ahead.

Certainly impossible to time this stuff, hence only (heavily) slicing profits here when it was last in the 9's, rather than selling up in full. Was anticipating 12's as a ceiling for that particular 'cycle' back then, since you asked.

Anyway, so far, the SP here is playing out as I anticipated this morning. I would be surprised if this was the low, but we will know by the end of next week at the latest IMO, if I am right or not. Fairly relaxed either way, but time will tell. GLA.

This one often takes a couple of days to drop materially, I have found. So nobody should feel complacent that the market already priced this in.

There are clearly better managed mining outfits than this one.

That said, the low free float, global position as the biggest silver miner, along with decent gold reserves too, means that it can go up really quickly when things go well too.

Not one for those who suffer from high blood pressure, but I have seen it all here before.

Not buying more yet, but if my target price hits, I will add.

IMO, this one will pay off at some point in the next few years at most, but that is not to say that there are not other, better stocks to consider ahead of this one. Certainly in the short term IMO. Probably no better silver miners anyway, if that is your bag. GLA.

If so - good. AIM does require a more proactive approach by management than the main market does.

Higher visibility when possible. More interviews etc. Because the investor pool is much smaller and thus you are competing with a lot of other AIM outfits for this small pocket of money.

IMO, until an AIM company is a mature, cash-flow positive beast, slow and steady will usually lose the race.

Anyway, nice to see the potential within this appetizer contract, while we wait for the steak main course! GLA.

Set strict stop losses if you are more sensible that I am, for some peace of mind, and make the most of the summer...which must be around the corner by now!

What are your thoughts on PARA?

I have a small holding in that one currently. Have traded it profitably a few times to date too, which is always nice.

Earnings soon, as well as BRK filings (need to see if they have added, held or reduced their holding there since their last update), so will not be adding or selling my current circa break even position before then (unless a crazy spike to eg 19 USD on no news beforehand).

A real dog for LTH and not without its own issues, like DIS (which I still do not fancy right now), but that one and ITV I feel are going to come good, sooner or later. NB: cue for shorters on both to load up :)

Welcome mate. And a sound strategy. We are all still learning. Some of us (me especially) take a lot longer than others :)

Just invest here, or anywhere for that matter, an amount of money that you feel comfortable with, and that you will not need to access quickly.

And only what you can afford to lose.

Average down, if you think it is the right decision. Sell, even at a loss, if you think it is the right decision. Or simply HODL. Whatever works for you. Be careful with your position sizes too.

Final point: these boards are splendid for many things. Amazing actually, what you can learn from some posters, to add to your own research. Fun too, quite often.

But never make any decision, in any direction, from what you read here. Even from the likes of me, irrespective of the fact I play with a straight bat...because I am not smart enough, or more importantly, financially desperate enough, to play games.

Well, it benefits OPTI holders (in the short term at least), as it takes away the short term funding cloud.

It benefits SBTX, because it removes what must have been a drag on their SP.

The large OPTI holding in that one actually influenced my decision to sell my holding in SBTX (at a good profit) some time ago.

In part, as I was still 'covered' by owning OPTI, and in part the periodic selling down by SOH. I also felt that their SP had become frothy. Still cautiously bullish on SBTX though. Still hopeful that SOH will finally deliver here too, although jury remains out, as I have said a few times now, along with the criteria that I have to this end.

For your own peace of mind, Protonbull, perhaps best to email the company with your questions. These chat boards are great for many things, but I am not sure any poster here could give you a 100% reliable answer to that question. GLA.

I was actually quite surprised that the SP moved relatively little today, after the initial push early on.

In truth, I thought we would break the 200 DMA, even though I said earlier a more conservative timeline for this initial resistance test :)

IMO, we probably flushed out a fair amount of people who bought in the 8's and 9's today, so hopefully we will make some decent progress in the days ahead. But who knows?

Regardless, today was a good day for the company and perhaps we might not need to wait as late as the autumn for real action?
